AROUND THE EDGES OF THE HIDES IS A LITTLE IFFY WITH STRETCH MARKS AND STUFF. YOU WANT TO REALLY GET YOUR STUFF OUT IN THE MIDDLE.

SO NOW WHAT I'M DOING IS I'M STITCHING THESE LINES THAT I DREW ON THE LEATHER, STITCHING IT THROUGH THE FOAM TO GIVE US THAT PLEATED LOOK, AND THERE WE GO.

NOW I ALSO INSTALLED THE DECK LID, AND IF YOU'RE AS EXCITED AS WE ARE TO SEE HOW THIS CAR'S GONNA LOOK WHEN IT'S FINISHED WELL TODAY IS YOUR DAY. THE FIRST THING WE NEED TO DO IS BLOW OFF ALL THE DUST WITH SOME COMPRESSED AIR. THEN WIPE IT DOWN WITH SOME NAPHTHA.
(MARC)>> NOW THAT TOMMY'S GOT THIS ALL CLEANED UP WE CAN MOVE ON TO FIGURING OUT WHERE WE NEED TO PUT OUR STRIPES. WELL THANKFULLY THE STRIPE KIT CAME WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS TELLING US WHERE WE NEED TO MAKE THE MEASUREMENTS, MAKE SOME MARKS, AND GET OUR STRIPES IN THE RIGHT PLACE. I'VE GOT SEAMSTRESS TAPE AND I'VE GOT SOME HIGH QUALITY MASKING TAPE HERE, NEITHER OF WHICH ARE GONNA DAMAGE OUR PRETTY BLACK PAINT. FIRST THING WE NEED TO DO IS PULL A MEASUREMENT RIGHT OFF THIS TAIL PANEL. WE'RE MAKING THIS MARK AT TWO AND A HALF INCHES FROM THE BACK OF THE QUARTER PANEL WITH THE QUARTER EXTENSION NOT INSTALLED. THIS MARK GETS MADE AT AN INCH AND THREE QUARTERS BEHIND THE REFLECTOR OPENING. WE'LL DO THE SAME TO THE OTHER SIDE...
...AND TAPE THE DECAL IN PLACE FOR MOCK UP. WITH THE OTHER SIDE INSTALLED WE CAN TAKE A MEASUREMENT OF THE TOTAL WIDTH OF THE DECK LID TO ESTABLISH CENTER, WHICH WE'LL MARK ON A PIECE OF TAPE. ALL RIGHT, LETS SEE HOW THIS LOOKS. GET IT ALL LINED UP. YEP, CENTER. ALL RIGHT TOMMY, IT'S ALL YOU. THE HARD PART'S DONE.
(TOMMY)>> NOW TO HELP PUT THIS STUFF ON WE'VE GOT SOME SOAPY SOLUTION AND A SQUEEGEE. SO LET'S GO AHEAD AND GET STARTED. WITH THE DECALS OUT OF THE WAY WE CAN SPRAY THIS SOAPY WATER ONTO THE SURFACE OF THE CAR ON TO THE STICKY SIDE OF THE STRIPE. THIS WILL ALLOW US TO MOVE THE DECAL AROUND THEM UNTIL WE GET IT EXACTLY WHERE WE WANT IT. THEN WE CAN SQUEEGEE ALL THE SOAPY WATER OUT FROM UNDERNEATH ALONG WITH ANY BUBBLES. I THINK THAT'S GOOD. WE CAN MOVE ON. NOW IT'S TIME FOR THE DECK LID PIECE, WHICH GETS LINED UP WITH THE QUARTER PANEL PIECES ON THE ENDS AND THE CENTER LINE IN THE MIDDLE. MORE SQUEEGEEING AND THIS THING IS READY TO PEEL AND REVEAL. (MARC)>> NOW THAT TOMMY'S GOT THIS ALL CLEANED UP WE CAN MOVE ON TO FIGURING OUT WHERE WE NEED TO PUT OUR STRIPES. WELL THANKFULLY THE STRIPE KIT CAME WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS TELLING US WHERE WE NEED TO MAKE THE MEASUREMENTS, MAKE SOME MARKS, AND GET OUR STRIPES IN THE RIGHT PLACE. I'VE GOT SEAMSTRESS TAPE AND I'VE GOT SOME HIGH QUALITY MASKING TAPE HERE, NEITHER OF WHICH ARE GONNA DAMAGE OUR PRETTY BLACK PAINT. FIRST THING WE NEED TO DO IS PULL A MEASUREMENT RIGHT OFF THIS TAIL PANEL. WE'RE MAKING THIS MARK AT TWO AND A HALF INCHES FROM THE BACK OF THE QUARTER PANEL WITH THE QUARTER EXTENSION NOT INSTALLED. THIS MARK GETS MADE AT AN INCH AND THREE QUARTERS BEHIND THE REFLECTOR OPENING. WE'LL DO THE SAME TO THE OTHER SIDE...
...AND TAPE THE DECAL IN PLACE FOR MOCK UP. WITH THE OTHER SIDE INSTALLED WE CAN TAKE A MEASUREMENT OF THE TOTAL WIDTH OF THE DECK LID TO ESTABLISH CENTER, WHICH WE'LL MARK ON A PIECE OF TAPE. ALL RIGHT, LETS SEE HOW THIS LOOKS. GET IT ALL LINED UP. YEP, CENTER. ALL RIGHT TOMMY, IT'S ALL YOU. THE HARD PART'S DONE.
(TOMMY)>> NOW TO HELP PUT THIS STUFF ON WE'VE GOT SOME SOAPY SOLUTION AND A SQUEEGEE. SO LET'S GO AHEAD AND GET STARTED. WITH THE DECALS OUT OF THE WAY WE CAN SPRAY THIS SOAPY WATER ONTO THE SURFACE OF THE CAR ON TO THE STICKY SIDE OF THE STRIPE. THIS WILL ALLOW US TO MOVE THE DECAL AROUND THEM UNTIL WE GET IT EXACTLY WHERE WE WANT IT. THEN WE CAN SQUEEGEE ALL THE SOAPY WATER OUT FROM UNDERNEATH ALONG WITH ANY BUBBLES. I THINK THAT'S GOOD. WE CAN MOVE ON. NOW IT'S TIME FOR THE DECK LID PIECE, WHICH GETS LINED UP WITH THE QUARTER PANEL PIECES ON THE ENDS AND THE CENTER LINE IN THE MIDDLE. MORE SQUEEGEEING AND THIS THING IS READY TO PEEL AND REVEAL. NOW WHENEVER YOU'RE PULLING THIS BACKING OFF YOU DON'T WANT TO PULL IT OFF IN LIKE THIS DIRECTION CAUSE WHAT THAT CAN DO IS ACTUALLY PULL OFF THE DECAL. IT'S BEST TO KIND OF GO ALONG WITH THE PANEL.

NOW BACK HERE ON THE BACK IF YOU NOTICE IT'S REAL INCONSISTENT AS FAR AS THE COLOR GOES.
