(ANNOUNCER)>> THE BLOG BUGGY
SHOWS JUST WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE LET YOU DESIGN OUR
RIG INSTEAD OF IAN. SO FAR YOU'VE DONE AN
OUTSTANDING JOB, CAPABLE TIRES, A STRONG
ENGINE, AND MORE. EVERYTHING YOU NEED ALL
WITH BUDGET IN MIND. TODAY ON XTREME 4X4, OUR
VIEWER'S CHOICE RIDE GETS SOME KEY COMPONENTS AND
TAKES ONE STEP CLOSER TO TEARING UP THE TRAIL.
(IAN)>> TODAY ON XTREME WE'RE BACK IN THE MIX WITH OUR BLOG BUGGY PROJECT. NOW FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT REMEMBER, THIS IS THE RIG WHERE I CHOSE THE CHASSIS AND YOU GUYS PICKED EVERYTHING THAT WAS GONNA GO IN IT. NOW YOU'VE DONE A PRETTY GOOD JOB SO FAR PICKING A JUNKYARD FIVE POINT THREE LITER TRUCK LS SERIES ENGINE, BACKING IT UP WITH A TURBO 400 TRANSMISSION, AND THEN FINISHING THAT DRIVETRAIN OFF WITH A FOUR SPEED ATLAS TRANSFER CASE. NOW UNDERNEATH THE FRONT YOU PICKED THE DANA 60 AXLE AND OUT BACK THE ICONIC 14 BOLT, BOTH FILLED WITH ARB AIR LOCKERS AND CHROMOLY SHAFTS. AND THE WHOLE RIG IS RIDING ON A SET OF 42 INCH TALL TIRES. NOW TODAY WE'RE GONNA KNOCK OUT THE REST OF THE OPTIONS THAT YOU GUYS CHOSE. WE'LL DEAL WITH THE STEERING, THE LIGHTING, THE INTERIOR, AND EVEN A SOUND SYSTEM. EVERY SINGLE OPTION WHEN IT CAME TO OUR POLL WE GAVE YOU GUYS THREE DIFFERENT CHOICES, AND THAT WAS TRUE FOR EVERYTHING EXCEPT FOR THE STEERING. NOW WE OBVIOUSLY KNEW THAT IT WAS GONNA BE A FULL HYDRAULIC STEERING KIT BECAUSE IT'S A TUBE BUGGY AND THAT'S WHAT THEY REQUIRE. SO WE GAVE YOU GUYS TWO SIMPLE CHOICES, FOUR WHEEL STEER OR FRONT WHEEL STEER. NOW A FOUR WHEEL STEER, IT'S A GREAT THING. IT ALLOWS YOU TO GET A LONG WHEEL BASE RIG THROUGH SOME TIGHT TRAILS, LETTING YOU TURN BOTH THE FRONT AND THE REAR WHEELS INDEPENDENT OF EACH OTHER. THE DOWN FALL IS IT CAN BE KINDA PRICEY BECAUSE YOU NEED TWICE AS MANY PARTS. FOR THIS RIG YOU GUYS ONCE AGAIN FELL ON THE BUDGET SIDE OF THINGS AND CHOSE A FRONT WHEEL STEER OPTION ONLY. SO WE GOT A COMPLETE FULL HYDRAULIC KIT FROM PSC. NOW IT COMES WITH AN EXTRA LARGE RESERVOIR TO HOLD THE FLUID THAT'S NEEDED, AND AN ORBITAL VALVE TO STEER THE RIG. HEAVY DUTY PUMPS SPECIFICALLY SPEC'ED FOR OUR MOTOR AND A SINGLE ENDED RAM THAT'LL MOUNT TO THE AXLE AND TO THE STEERING ROD. NOW WE DID HAVE THE OPTION OF GOING WITH A DOUBLE ENDED RAM WITH THIS RIG. NOW THAT WOULD BE A RAM MOUNTED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE WITH TWO TIE RODS. BUT CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT WE HAVE 42 INCH TALL TIRES ONLY AND WE'RE NOT BUILDING THIS THING TO GO HIGH SPEED, IT'S MORE OF A ROCK CRAWLER, A SINGLE ENDED RAM WILL DO THE JOB AND SAVE US A BIT OF CASH.
THE ORBITAL VALVE MOUNTS ON THE DASH BAR TO THE CHASSIS WITH THE FITTING FACING UP TO PREVENT AIR FROM BEING TRAPPED IN THE LINE. THEN THE RESERVOIR IS MOUNTED TO THE CHASSIS WITH A COUPLE OF TABS. BE SURE TO GET IT AS CLOSE TO THE POWER STEERING PUMP AS YOU CAN. NOW THE REASON THAT YOU NEED THE RESERVOIR MOUNTED AS CLOSE TO THE PUMP AND DIRECTLY ABOVE IT HAS TO DO WITH HOW THE FLUID LEAVES THAT RESERVOIR AND ENTERS THE PUMP ITSELF. IT COMES OUT OF THIS LARGE DASH 10 FITTING AND FLOWS STRAIGHT DOWN INTO THE NEW PUMP. NOW IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT DIRECTLY IN LINE OR DIRECTLY ABOVE IT, SAY MOUNTED WAY BACK HERE OUT OF THE WAY OF THE HEAT OF THE ENGINE, THEN THE PROBLEM COMES GETTING THE FLUID FROM THE RESERVOIR DOWN TO THAT PUMP. YOU MAY THING THAT THE PUMP IS SUCKING THE FLUID IN BUT IT'S NOT. THE ONLY THING MOVING FLUID FROM HERE TO THE PUMP IS GRAVITY ITSELF. SO YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT THAT LINE IS AS SHORT AS IT CAN BE AND AS STRAIGHT. ANOTHER ITEM THAT PEOPLE OFTEN NEGLECT WHEN THEY'RE PLUMBING THEIR POWER STEERING SYSTEM IS TO ADD A GOOD COOLER TO IT. NOW THE COOLER WILL EXTEND THE LIFE OF EVERYTHING LIKE YOUR PUMP, AND YOUR ORBITAL, AND YOUR RAM. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, BY KEEPING THE FLUID TEMPERATURE DOWN, THERE'S LESS CHANCE OF IT AERATING WHEN YOU'RE DOING SOME SERIOUS WHEELING. WHEN IT STARTS TO AERATE, YOU CAN LOSE SOME STEERING FEEL. NOW THERE'S THREE POPULAR TYPES OF COOLERS THAT WE MOST OFTEN USE. THE FIRST IS A STRAIGHT HEAT SINK COOLER. IT JUST HAS A LARGE SINGLE PASS TUBE THAT HAS AN INLET AND AN OUTLET AT THE OPPOSITE END. THE EXTRUDED ALUMINUM FINS ARE DESIGNED TO DISSIPATE THE HEAT THAT GETS BUILT UP IN THE SYSTEM. NOW A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT THAN THAT IS ANOTHER TUBE TYPE COOLER, EXCEPT THIS TIME THE TUBE PASSES MULTIPLE TIMES ACROSS A CORE. NOW THE CORE HAS FINS ON IT, AND IF YOU MOUNT THIS ON THE RADIATOR, THE AIR THAT PASSES THROUGH IT WILL HELP COOL THE FLUID INSIDE. NOW THE CADILLAC OF COOLERS IS RIGHT HERE. THIS IS A PLATE AND FIN TYPE COOLER. YOU CAN SEE IT LOOKS KINDA LIKE A RADIATOR. IT HAS A TANK ON ONE SIDE, VERY FLAT PLATES, AND MULTIPLE FINS. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY USUALLY HAVE AN INTEGRATED FAN BUILT INTO THEM. THIS WILL COOL THE MOST FLUID THAT PASSES THROUGH IT, BUT HOW YOU MOUNT THEM IS ACTUALLY VERY IMPORTANT. OBVIOUSLY THE IN LINE COOLER, YOU CAN MOUNT IT ANY WAY YOU WANT, THERE'S NO BIG ISSUE. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THESE TYPES OF COOLERS WITH THE INLET AND THE OUTLET, IF YOU MOUNT IT DOWN LIKE THIS, YOU CAN END UP WITH AN AIR POCKET UP IN ONE OF THESE PASSES. THAT AIR POCKET MEANS THE FLUID WILL NOT TRAVEL THROUGH THE COOLER, CAN STARVE THE SYSTEM, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY BURN UP THE PUMP. THE SAME HOLDS TRUE FOR A PLATE AND FIN COOLER. A GOOD RULE OF THUMB IS TO TRY TO MOUNT IT WITH THE FITTINGS UP. IF YOU DO HAVE TO MOUNT IT ON ITS SIDE, MOUNT IT SO IT FEEDS FROM THE BOTTOM AND EXITS OUT THE TOP.
(IAN)>> TODAY WE'RE FINISHING UP ALL THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS THAT YOU GUYS PICKED FOR OUR BLOG BUGGY PROJECT. BUT BEFORE WE START PLUMBING UP THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM, THIS IS A GOOD TIME TO TAKE A STEP BACK. HAVE A LOOK AT ALL THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PLUMBING THAT GO INTO A TUBE BUGGY AND THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM. THERE'S LOW PRESSURE FEED AND PRESSURE LINES FOR THE POWER STEERING AS WELL AS THE ENGINE, HIGH PRESSURE BRAIDED HOSE THAT'S USED FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM, EVEN INCREDIBLY HIGH PRESSURE HYDRAULIC LINES FOR THE FRONT STEERING RAM, AND ALL TYPES OF BRAIDED HOSE, EVEN MONSTER ONE INCH HOSE TO GET THE COOLANT FROM THE ENGINE BACK TO THE REAR MOUNTED RADIATOR. BUT HOW YOU ASSEMBLE THE FITTINGS ON THESE HOSE, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WHERE EACH ONE OF THEM IS USED ON THE CHASSIS, WELL, EACH ONE'S DIFFERENT. A PUSH LOCK FITTING WORKS JUST LIKE THE NAME IMPLIES. THE BARBS ON THE FITTING ANCHOR THE HOSE IN PLACE ONCE YOU PUSH IT ON. THEY DO HAVE A PRESSURE LIMIT AROUND 300 PSI. SO IN THE STEERING SYSTEM WE RUN IT FROM THE ORBITAL BACK TO THE TANK. THE FEED LINES ON THE OTHER HAND WILL SEE PRESSURES CLOSE TO 1,500 TO 2,500 PSI. SO FOR THESE LINES WE HAVE TO RUN A TRUE HYDRAULIC HOSE AND HEAVY DUTY FITTING. FUEL LINES WORK AT A RELATIVELY LOW PRESSURE COMPARED TO EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE BUGGY. USUALLY AROUND 60 TO 90 PSI, BUT A LEAK IN THIS LINE CAN LEAD TO A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. A GOOD BRAIDED HOSE WITH AN FITTINGS IS GONNA BE OUR BEST CHOICE HERE. IF YOU'RE PLANNING TO RUN AN LINES FOR YOUR COOLING SYSTEM, YOU HAVE TO MODIFY THE RADIATOR. SUMMIT RACING HAS DASH 16 WELD IN BUNGS FOR THIS JOB. AND WITH A LITTLE TIG WELDING, THE RADIATOR IS GOOD TO GO. NOW THE LAST PART OF THE PLUMBING THAT WE WANT TO LOOK AT ON THIS RIG HAS TO DO WITH COOLING THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. ON THE SIDE OF THE CASE YOU'RE GONNA FIND TWO PORTS. ONE IS THE OUTLET AND ONE IS THE INLET. IN THE CASE OF THE 400, THE OUTLET IS ON THE BOTTOM, BUT HOW YOU PLUMB THAT UP TO THE COOLER IS VERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE OF THE PRESSURE THAT'S REACHED INSIDE THAT TRANSMISSION CAN EASILY CAP OVER 300 PSI. NOW FROM THE FACTORY MANUFACTURERS USE STEEL HARD LINES TO GET THE FLUID UP TO THE TRANNY COOLER AND THE RADIATOR CAUSE IT CAN HANDLE THAT KIND OF PRESSURE. BUT THE DOWN FALL OF RUNNING STEEL LINE ON A RIG LIKE THIS OUT IN THE WOODS IS IF A ROCK HITS IT, IT'S EASILY GONNA SPLIT OPEN, DUMP ALL THE FLUID OUT IN THE WOODS. TRANSMISSION WITHOUT TRANSMISSION FLUID MEANS YOU DON'T GO ANYWHERE. SO WE USUALLY SWITCH OVER TO A BRAIDED LINE, AND THERE'S A COUPLE DIFFERENT KINDS. THIS IS A CLOTH BRAIDED LINE. WE USED THIS ON OUR FUEL SYSTEM AND OUR COOLING SYSTEM. NOW THE ONLY REAL ISSUE WITH USING THIS TO PLUMB A TRANSMISSION COOLER HAS TO DO WITH THE PRESSURE. IT'S RATED AT RIGHT AT 300 PSI. SO WE TEND TO SHY AWAY FROM THIS TO PLUMB THE COOLER BECAUSE IT'S RIGHT ON THAT EDGE OF POSSIBLY FAILING. I'D LIKE TO STEP UP TO A TRUE BRAIDED STAINLESS STEEL LINE. NOW THE NICE THING ABOUT THIS IS IT CAN EASILY HANDLE OVER 500 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH OF PRESSURE, MAKING IT ABLE TO HANDLE EVERYTHING THAT COMES OUT OF THAT TRANSMISSION. PROBLEM IS THAT IT'S EXPENSIVE. IT CAN USUALLY RUN YOU ABOUT FOUR DOLLARS A FOOT DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU BUY IT. THE EASIEST WAY TO SOLVE THAT ISSUE IS DON'T BUY SO MUCH OF IT. YOU'RE GONNA BE BUYING A TRANSMISSION COOLER ANYWAY. SO BUY ONE WITH AN INTEGRATED FAN ON IT. THAT WAY YOU CAN MOUNT IT CLOSE TO THE TRANSMISSION. YOU'LL STILL GET GOOD AIR FLOW ACROSS THE COOLER CORE, KEEPING THE TRANSMISSION NICE AND COLD. AND THEN YOU CAN JUST RUN A COUPLE FEET OF BRAIDED LINE DOWN TO THE TRANSMISSION, SAVE YOURSELF A COUPLE BUCKS. JUST REMEMBER, JUST LIKE WE TALKED ABOUT WITH THE STEERING SYSTEM, THE OUTLET OF THE TRANSMISSION HAS TO GO INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE COOLER AND THE TOP RETURNS TO THE TRANNY.
(IAN)>> TODAY WE'RE WORKING THROUGH THE REST OF THE POLL THAT YOU GUYS FILLED OUT ONLINE CHOOSING ALL THE OPTIONS FOR OUR BLOG BUGGY BUILD. WE FINISHED ALL THE HARD PARTS AND NOW WE'RE MOVING ON TO SOME OF THE FANCY STUFF, SOME OF THE ACCESSORIES. WE'RE GONNA START WITH OFF ROAD LIGHTING. AND LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, YOU GUYS HAD THREE CHOICES. THE FIRST CHOICE WAS A TYPICAL HALOGEN OFF ROAD LIGHT. THESE HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR DECADES. ALMOST THE EXACT SAME AS A HEAD LIGHT IN A STANDARD CAR. IT HAS A SMALL INCANDESCENT BULB THAT GLOWS WHEN YOU HEAT IT UP AND IT REFLECTS OFF THIS PARABOLIC LENS CREATING A BEAM OF LIGHT. NOW THEY'RE NOT A BAD SET OF LIGHTS FOR THE MONEY. THEY'RE DEFINITELY THE MOST ECONOMICAL CHOICE. THE ONLY REAL DOWN FALL IS THEY'RE NOT THAT BRIGHT. NOW THE NEXT STEP UP WAS YOUR NEXT OPTION, THAT'S A SET OF THESE, HID'S, OR HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE. NOW WHAT MAKES THIS LIGHT DIFFERENT IS THE BULB ITSELF. INSTEAD OF USING A FILAMENT THAT HEATS UP AND GLOWS, IT ACTUALLY CREATES A BALL OF PLASMA JUMPING ACROSS AN ARC, ALMOST THE EXACT SAME BALL OF PLASMA THAT YOU'D GET WHEN YOU FIRE UP A PLASMA CUTTER. THAT'S WHY THESE LIGHTS HAVE THAT BIG BLUE GLOW WHEN YOU SEE THEM OUT IN THE WOODS. NOW THE NICE THING ABOUT THE HID'S, INCREDIBLY BRIGHT, DOWN FALL, THEY GET A LITTLE BIT HOT AND THEY ARE A LITTLE BIT EXPENSIVE. NOW ONE OF THE NEWEST LIGHTING TECHNOLOGIES TO COME TO THE OFF ROAD IS RIGHT HERE, LED, OR LIGHT EMITTING DIODES. EACH ONE OF THESE SMALL PARABOLIC LENSES HAS A SERIES OF LED'S IN IT. WHEN YOU ENERGIZE THEM, THE WHOLE PACKAGE IS INCREDIBLY BRIGHT. PROBABLY THE NICEST THING ABOUT IT IS IT NEVER GETS HOT TO THE TOUCH, AND IT DOESN'T DRAW A LOT OF AMPERAGE ON YOUR RIG. AND THIS IS WHERE YOU GUYS ONCE AGAIN BROKE FROM YOUR WHOLE BUDGET THEME. YOU DIDN'T WANT TO SEE HALOGENS OR HID'S. YOU WANTED THE NEWEST IN LIGHT TECHNOLOGY, LED'S. SO WE GOT TWO AMBER PANELS FOR THE BACK AND A ROOF PANEL ALL FROM BLACK NIGHT LIGHTING. THE LIGHTS SIMPLY MOUNT TO TABS THAT WILL WELD ONTO THE CHASSIS. READY, POP! THE FRONT PANEL MOUNTS UP ABOVE THE DRIVER, GIVING US PLENTY OF LIGHT TO SEE DOWN THE TRAIL. HAVING A SOUND SYSTEM IN A TUBE BUGGY IS ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT YOU EITHER LOVE IT OR YOU HATE IT, AND THAT IS WHY WE GAVE YOU GUYS ONE OF THE THREE OPTIONS BEING NO STEREO AT ALL. JUST THE SOUND OF THE MOTOR AND THE TIRES TEARING UP THE DIRT. NOW THE OTHER OPTION WE GAVE YOU WAS AN OVER THE TOP SOUND SYSTEM, 100 PERCENT CUSTOM, KINDA LIKE WE DID IN OUR S-10 PROJECT. CUSTOM SPEAKER BOX WITH MULTIPLE SUB WOOFERS, AN AMP RACK WITH A BUNCH OF AMPS, WIRES EVERYWHERE, TRULY AN OVER THE TOP SET UP. BUT THE ONE YOU GUYS CHOSE WAS THE THIRD OPTION, A MORE SENSIBLE CHOICE. A SET OF WAKE BOARD SPEAKERS AND A MARINE GRADE AMPLIFIER. NOW WAKE BOARD SPEAKERS COME FROM THE MARINE MARKET AND YOU NORMALLY SEE THEM ON WAKE BOARD BOATS. THEY SIMPLY CLAMP ONTO THE SKI TOWER THAT'S ON THE TOP OF THAT BOAT. THE PODS HOLD A SIX AND A HALF INCH COMPONENT SPEAKER, AND THE NICE THING ABOUT THIS IS WE CAN CLAMP IT RIGHT ONTO OUR CHASSIS' ROLL CAGE AND IT'LL GIVE US EXCELLENT SOUND. NOW TO POWER THEM WAS A MARINE GRADE AMPLIFIER. NOW THE AMPLIFIER, IT'S NOT WATERPROOF BUT IT'S WATER RESISTANT. ALL THE OPENINGS ARE SEALED WITH A GASKET TO PREVENT ANY MUD OR WATER THAT SPLASHES INSIDE THE TUBE BUGGY FROM EFFECTING THE CIRCUITRY INSIDE. I'M SURE YOU GUYS ARE WONDERING, WELL WHERE'S THE MUSIC GONNA COME FROM IN THIS SYSTEM? WHAT KIND OF STEREO ARE YOU GONNA PUT IN THE DASH? WELL IN A TUBE BUGGY, YOU'RE JUST WASTING YOUR TIME TRYING TO DO THAT. THE CONSTANT VIBRATION OF THE RIG WILL NOT ONLY EFFECT ANY CD YOU TRY TO SLIDE IN THERE, IT'LL ACTUALLY BREAK UP THE CIRCUIT BOARD AND YOU WON'T GET ANY GOOD SOUND OUT OF IT. SO WE'RE JUST GONNA USE A SMALL MPTHREE PLAYER, HOOK IT UP TO A PREAMP, AND THEN RUN THAT INTO OUR AMPLIFIER.
(IAN)>> IT'S PRETTY OBVIOUS WHAT SEAT CHOICE YOU GUYS MADE FOR OUR BLOG BUGGY CHASSIS, AND THAT IS TWO FULL SUSPENSION SEATS. BUT WE GAVE YOU A COUPLE OF OLD SCHOOL OPTIONS JUST IN CASE YOU WANTED TO GO THAT WAY. THE FIRST WAS A SET OF RECLINERS PULLED FROM A JUNKYARD. NOW THIS USED TO BE THE GO TO SEAT FOR ALMOST EVERY TUBE BUGGY OUT THERE. THE REASON WHY, WELL THEY WERE CHEAP, BUT WHY WE DON'T USE THEM ANY MORE HAS MORE TO DO WITH SAFETY THAN COSTS. SEE RIGS, YOU NEVER USED TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE THEM THAT FAST. YOU COULD CRAWL OVER SOME TRAILS, AND MAYBE IN BETWEEN THE TRAILS GET UP TO ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR. BUT NOWADAYS, THE RIGS ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT. WE CAN TRAVEL AT A MUCH FASTER SPEED, CONQUER HARDER TRAILS, AND BASICALLY ABUSE THEM A LOT A WORSE. A FACTORY SET OF JUNKYARD RECLINERS LIKE THESE UNDER THAT TYPE OF ENVIRONMENT, WELL THE SEAT ITSELF, THE RECLINING MECHANISM CAN BREAK, OR THE SEAT INTERNALS CAN BREAK. THEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. YOU'RE BASICALLY SITTING ON A SEAT STRAPPED INTO NOTHING AND YOU'RE LOOSE INSIDE THE RIG, AND YOU CAN GET HURT VERY BADLY. THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T SEE JUNKYARD SEATS USED IN RIGS ANY MORE. NOW ANOTHER OPTION WE GAVE YOU WAS THIS RIGHT HERE, A GOOD OLE POLY BUCKET. INCREDIBLY LOW COSTS, WON'T BREAK BECAUSE IT'S INCREDIBLY HARD. THE DOWN FALL IS IS THERE'S NO ABSORPTION IN THIS SEAT. IF YOU'RE GONNA SIT IN THIS, YOU'RE GONNA FEEL EVERY SINGLE BUMP IN THE TRAIL. NOW THEY'RE GREAT FOR RIGS LIKE MUD RACING TRUCKS THAT ARE JUST BASICALLY TRAVELING OVER THAT SOFT, GOOEY SURFACE. BUT WHEN YOU COME INTO HARDCORE ROCK CRAWLING OR HAULING IT THROUGH THE DIRT, YOU WILL GET BEAT UP IN THIS SEAT SO BAD IT'S NOT WORTH SAVING THE MONEY. NOW FOR OUR SUSPENSION SEATS WE OPTED FOR A SET OF MASTERCRAFT BAJA RS SEATS. THEY'RE FULL SUSPENSION SEATS THAT'LL ABSORB THAT SHOCK, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE INTERNAL STRUCTURE INSIDE THE SEAT IS ALL HEAVY DUTY THICK WALLED TUBING AND FLAT PLATE THAT'S DESIGNED TO BE ABUSED OFF ROAD. NOW THESE ARE RS, OR RECLINING SEATS, AND THE RECLINING MECHANISM ITSELF IS DESIGNED TO NOT ONLY ALLOW YOU TO POSITION THE SEAT WHERE YOU WANT, BUT IT'S EXTRA STRONG SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT FAILING WHEN YOU'RE OUT IN THE DIRT. NOW WE ALSO HAD THEM CUSTOM EMBROIDER THE ROYAL PURPLE LOGO BECAUSE WHEN WE'RE ALL SAID AND DONE, WELL THAT'S WHO'S GETTING THE BUGGY.
SO NOW ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS ADD SOME TABS TO MOUNT THESE SEATS INTO OUR CHASSIS. THEN WE'LL BLOW RIG APART, DO ALL THE FINISH WELDING ON EVERYTHING, ADD SOME TABS ONTO IT SO WE CAN PUT SOME BODY PANELS ON LATER, AND THEN WE'LL FINALLY HAVE IT READY TO SEND OUT FOR SOME CUSTOM POWDER COATING. NOW I KNOW YOU GUYS CHOSE A JUNKYARD ENGINE BUT I'VE GOT A LITTLE BIT OF A SURPRISE FOR YOU. THERE IS NO WAY THAT AFTER ALL THE WORK THAT WE'VE DONE ON THIS RIG WE'RE GONNA LEAVE THIS FIVE POINT THREE LITER STOCK. SO THE NEXT TIME WE'RE WORKING ON THIS RIG, WE'LL HAVE THAT ENGINE ON A STAND, THROW A BUNCH OF GOODIES AT IT TO MAKE THIS RIG KINDA HAUL IT DOWN THE TRAIL. IT'LL GO LIKE VROOM, YEP, VROOOM, VROOOM, VROOOM!
