The First Ever Pre-Crash External Side Airbags Are Here
Airbag technology has a new development, thanks to ZF, a fairly unheard of monolithic automotive parts supplier.
The advanced airbag system would hypothetically inflate just before a car is about to get T-boned, preventing serious injury. ZF is calling it the “world’s first pre-crash external side airbag system,” however, companies like Volvo have been tinkering with the techonology on and off. ZF is claiming it is “currently the only company to provide the full spectrum of integrated vehicle safety technology – from sensor systems, algorithms, and control units to active and passive actuators”.
Do you think it’s technology that will take off?
