(ANNOUNCER)>> TODAY WE'RE
WRAPPING UP ALL THE LOOSE
ENDS ON PROJECT WRANGLER REDO.
RYAN'S INSTALLING HYDRAULIC STEERING AND MAKING SOME CUSTOM ROCKER PROTECTION. THEN WE'RE TAKING OUR FOUR WHEEL DRIVE CONVERTED JEEP OUT TO SEE JUST HOW WELL EVERYTHING WORKS. IT'S ALL TODAY HERE ON TRUCK TECH.
(RYAN)>> HEY GUYS, WELCOME TO TRUCK TECH. WELL TODAY WE'RE GONNA TAKE OUR FOUR DOOR
WRANGLER OUT FOR A LITTLE TRAIL FUN. NOW IF YOU GUYS REMEMBER, THIS JEEP ACTUALLY STARTED LIFE OUT AS A TWO WHEEL DRIVE. AND WE'VE SINCE CONVERTED TO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE, ADDED THE LIFT KIT, GEARS, LOCKERS, AND A HANDFUL OF OTHER PARTS TO MAKE IT OFF ROAD READY. AND WHILE IT LOOKS COMPLETE THERE ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS WE WANT TO TAKE CARE OF BEFORE WE GET OUT OF THE SHOP TODAY. THIS AREA HERE BELOW THE DOORS IS QUITE VULNERABLE TO TRAIL DAMAGE. SO WE'RE GONNA BE BUILDING SOME CUSTOM ROCKER PROTECTION TO MAKE SURE WE CAN ALWAYS OPEN THESE DOORS. AND THESE 37 INCH MUD TERRAINS ARE BIG AND HEAVY. WHEN THIS THING IS BOUND UP IN THE ROCKS, IT CAN SOMETIMES BE MORE THAN THE STOCK POWER STEERING SYSTEM CAN HANDLE. SO TO MAKE SURE WE CAN ALWAYS POINT THE TIRES IN THE DIRECTION WE WANT TO GO WE'RE GONNA BE INSTALLING A HYDRAULIC STEERING ASSIST KIT. THAT'S WHAT WE'RE GONNA GET STARTED WITH. THIS IS A PSC STAGE TWO CYLINDER ASSIST KIT DESIGNED JUST FOR THESE JK WRANGLERS, AND IT'LL GIVE US THE HYDRAULIC FORCE NECESSARY TO TURN THE BIG TIRES, EVEN IF THE AXLES ARE LOCKED OR WE'RE IN ROUGH TERRAIN. NOW THE KIT INCLUDES THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER ALONG WITH THE MOUNTING BRACKET AND A TIE ROD CLAMP, A NICE LOOKING VENTED RESERVOIR, AND ALL THE HOSE AND FITTINGS WE NEED TO GET EVERYTHING INSTALLED. IT ALSO COMES WITH A HIGH OUTPUT STEERING PUMP, NEW IDLER PULLEY, AND SERPENTINE BELT. NOW ONE THING INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE YOU DON'T SEE IS THE REBUILDING OF THE FACTORY STEERING BOX. WE'VE ALREADY SENT OURS TO THEM. THEY REBUILT IT, BLUE PRINTED IT, MADE ALL THE MODIFICATIONS. WE'VE GOTTEN IT BACK AND INSTALLED IT ALREADY. ANOTHER THING WE OPTED FOR WAS ONE OF PSC'S DUAL COOLER KITS. IT COMES WITH THIS PRETTY SLICK MOUNTING BRACKET JUST FOR THE JK'S AND TWO PLATE AND FIN STYLE COOLERS. ONE FOR THE POWER STEERING AND ONE FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. AFTER REMOVING THE AIR BOX AND THE INTAKE TUBE, WE CAN EASILY REMOVE THE STOCK SERPENTINE BELT AND IDLER PULLEY. THEY'RE BOTH GETTING REPLACED. I'M ALSO UNBOLTING THE FACTORY POWER STEERING PUMP, MAKING IT A LITTLE BIT EASIER TO GET TO THE PRESSURE LINE. THEN REMOVING IT AND THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR. THE RESERVOIR AND PUMP ARE COMING OUT AS AN ASSEMBLY
SO I DON'T MAKE A MESS. THEN WE CAN INSTALL THE SUPPLIED PUMP. TWO OEM BOLTS AND THESE HOLES, THE SUPPLIED THIRD BOLT THROUGH THE BOTTOM.
NOW THE FLUID RESERVOIR OUTLET NEEDS TO SIT HIGHER THAN THE PUMP INLET. THERE NEEDS TO BE A GRAVITY FEED TO EFFICIENTLY GET THE FLUID DOWN TO THE PUMP. AND SINCE THE PUMP SITS KINDA HIGH ON THE ENGINE,
GETTING THE RESERVOIR TO SIT EVEN HIGHER CAN
BE A LITTLE BIT OF A PACKAGING CHALLENGE.
NOW THERE IS A MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THE RESERVOIR INCLUDED IN THE KIT THAT I'VE WELDED A COUPLE OF EXTRA PIECES OF ALUMINUM TO SO I CAN MOUNT IT HERE ON THE FIREWALL. AND THAT'LL LET THE RESERVOIR SIT HIGHER AND
STILL ALLOW THE HOOD TO CLOSE AND CLEAR THE BREATHER, BUT BARELY. NOW THE BRACKET IS PRETTY SIMPLE AND ATTACHES TO AN EXISTING STUD ON THE FIREWALL AND TO THE PINCH WELD.
I'VE GOT THE ALUMINUM TAPPED TO ACCEPT THESE THREE BUTTON HEAD SCREWS. I'LL JUST TRIM THE HOOD WEATHER STRIPPING TO FIT AROUND THE BRACKET. NOW THE RESERVOIR ENDED UP BEING A COUPLE OF INCHES HIGHER THAN THE PUMP, WHICH IS PERFECT. WITH THAT DONE WE CAN MOVE ON TO INSTALLING THE RAM,
OR THE CYLINDER. DO A LITTLE GRINDING. AFTER MARKING WHERE THE TABS ARE GONNA ATTACH, I'M USING A BRISTLE DISC TO GET RID OF ANY PAINT SO I CAN DO SOME WELDING. NOW I'M JUST USING THE ROD END AS A SPACER. IT'S COMING OUT BEFORE I FULLY BURN IT IN. I'M ALSO REMOVING THE TRACK BAR SO I DON'T DAMAGE THE POLY URETHANE TRACK BAR BUSHING WITH TOO MUCH HEAT FROM THE WELDING. [ welder crackling ] ALRIGHT, NOW IT'S GOOD.
AFTER GIVING THE METAL SOME TIME TO COOL WE CAN PROTECT IT. A FEW MINUTES OF DRYING, HIT IT WITH ANOTHER COAT. THEN USING THE SUPPLIED GRADE EIGHT HARDWARE WE CAN ATTACH THE CYLINDER TO THE BRACKET ON THE AXLE AND GET READY TO ATTACH IT TO OUR HEAVY DUTY TIE ROD. THAT'S FULL RIGHT, AS IS THE STEERING CYLINDER. TO ATTACH THE CYLINDER TO THE TIE ROD WE'RE USING THIS CLAMP ON BRACKET. WHAT MAKES IT NICE IS YOU DON'T HAVE TO WELD ANYTHING TO THE TIE ROD TO MAKE THE ATTACHMENT. AND YOU CAN MAKE ADJUSTMENTS WITH EASE. SIMPLY REMOVE THE BOLTS HOLDING THE BRACKET IN PLACE, SLIDE IT INTO POSITION, AND RECLAMP IT.
BACK UP IN THE ENGINE BAY WE CAN INSTALL THE NEW LARGER IDLER PULLEY AND SERPENTINE BELT. NOW BEFORE WE CONNECT ALL THESE PARTS WITH THE FLUID HOSES, WE'RE GONNA FINISH UP INSTALLING THE HARD PARTS BY REMOVING THE GRILL AND INSTALLING THE COOLERS. HOPEFULLY I CAN SNEAK THIS THING OUT OF HERE WITHOUT
TAKING THE BUMPER OFF. AFTER REMOVING A COUPLE OF WIRING HARNESS RETAINERS WE CAN SLIP THE BRACKET INTO POSITION AND SECURE
IT USING A COUPLE OF SUPPLIED SELF DRILLING SELF TAPPING SCREWS, TWO ON THE TOP AND THREE ON THE BOTTOM.
THEN WE CAN INSTALL THE ACTUAL COOLERS. NOW FOR THE TRANSMISSION COOLER IT NEEDS A LITTLE BIT OF CLEARANCE. SO WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO TRIM THIS PIECE OF PLASTIC. JUST BE CAREFUL WITH WHATEVER YOU'RE
CUTTING IT WITH. YOU DON'T WANT TO GET INTO THE A/C CONDENSER. THAT WOULDN'T BE COOL! I HAD TO, I HAD TO!
ALRIGHT, WITH OUR COOLER BOLTED DOWN BEHIND THE GRILL AND ALL OF OUR OTHER HARD PARTS INSTALLED, WE CAN START THE PROCESS OF CONNECTING EVERYTHING WITH HOSES. JUST REMEMBER THE HOSES THAT GO IN BETWEEN OUR ASSIST CYLINDER AND THE REBUILT FACTORY STEERING BOX TAKE THE HEAVY DUTY HIGH PRESSURE HOSE. THIS STUFF IS GOOD UP TO 2,300 PSI.
MOST OF THE TIME THE DRIVER'S SIDE CYLINDER ATTACHES TO THE PORT NEAREST TO THE FIREWALL. JUST REMEMBER TO LEAVE ENOUGH SLACK IN THE LINES AND TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY DON'T INTERFERE WITH ANY MOVING SUSPENSION COMPONENTS. OUR HYDRO ASSIST IS JUST ABOUT BUTTONED UP. ALL I'VE GOT LEFT TO DO IS TO REINSTALL OUR COLD AIR INTAKE. NOW THESE FACTORY JK FLARES LEAVE A LITTLE
BIT TO BE DESIRED. THEY'RE NOT THE MOST ATTRACTIVE FLARES IN THE WORLD. WE DEFINITELY PREFER THE LOOK OF THESE BUSHWACKER FLAT STYLE FLARES. AND ONCE THEY'RE ON WE CAN GET STARTED ON OUR CUSTOM ROCKER PROTECTION.
(ANNOUNCER)>> AFTER THE BREAK WE'LL BUILD AND INSTALL OUR FRAME MOUNTED ROCK SLIDERS. AND LATER WE'RE HITTING THE TRAIL, STAY TUNED.
(RYAN)>> HEY GUYS, WELCOME BACK TO THE SHOP. NOW WITH OUR FLARES INSTALLED AT ALL FOUR CORNERS, WE'RE JUST ABOUT READY TO HIT THE DOOR AND DO A LITTLE BIT OF WHEELING. BUT LIKE WE MENTIONED UP FRONT, WE'VE GOT ONE MORE PROJECT. WE WANT TO BUILD SOME CUSTOM ROCKER PROTECTION FOR THIS THING.
AND NOW THAT OUR FLARES ARE IN PLACE WE KNOW WHAT WE'VE GOT TO WORK WITH.
I STARTED THINGS OFF BY CUTTING A 45 DEGREE ANGLE INTO ONE END OF THE TUBE. THEN GETTING MY OVERALL LENGTH MEASUREMENT AND CUTTING A 45 INTO THE OTHER SIDE, WHICH OUR DAKE COLD SAW MADE QUICK WORK OF. AND BEFORE I BENT THE FIVE SUPPORT TUBES, I WENT AHEAD AND NOTCHED THE ENDS. IF YOU TRY TO NOTCH IT AFTER YOU MAKE THE BENDS IN THE TUBE IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO ACCURATELY LOAD IT INTO THE NOTCHER. I'M USING AN INCH AND A HALF HOLE SAW ON OUR INCH AND A HALF STEEL TUBING. AND WITH THE NOTCHES MADE I CAN LOAD THE TUBING INTO THE BENDER, AND LOCK IT INTO POSITION MAKING SURE THAT THE TUBE IS INDEXED CORRECTLY. AND RATHER THAN MESS AROUND WITH AN ANGLE FINDER OR THE DEGREE WHEEL, I JUST EYE BALLED THE BEND AND TOOK A MEASUREMENT TO MAKE IT EASILY REPEATABLE. THEN FOR THE OTHER FOUR SUPPORTS IT'S AS SIMPLE AS MATCHING UP THAT 11 INCH MEASUREMENT, AND I KNOW THEY'RE GONNA BE EXACT. THE PIECE OF TUBE I'M WORKING ON NOW IS
ACTUALLY TWO BENDS. I'LL CUT IT IN THE MIDDLE MAKING TWO SUPPORTS. THEN I NOTCHED A COUPLE OF PIECES OF SCRAP EXHAUST TUBING, SET THEM UP ON THE LIFT ARMS, MOCKED THE ROCK SLIDER INTO POSITION AND GOT IT WHERE I WANTED IT. JUST USING ANOTHER PIECE OF TUBING. SET MY SPACING AWAY FROM THE BODY CAUSE IT'S CONVENIENT.
NOW THE TUBULAR SUPPORTS ARE GONNA WELD DIRECTLY TO THE FRAME, BUT THERE'S A SUSPENSION BRACKET IN MY WAY. CONTROL ARM BRACKET I'M GONNA TRIM JUST A LITTLE BIT, GIVE ME SOME ROOM TO WELD ON IT. JUST A LITTLE BIT, GIVE ME SOME ROOM TO GET SOME WELD IN THERE.
AFTER MAKING A CUT, I'M USING A BRISTLE DISC ON A DYE GRINDER TO GET RID OF THE PAINT SO I CAN WELD DIRECTLY TO THE BARE STEEL. THEN I JUST MOCK UP THE FIRST SUPPORT, TACH WELD IT INTO PLACE, THEN JUST WORK MY WAY DOWN THE FRAME RAIL. NOW I WILL ADD MORE BRACING TO THESE LATER. FOR NOW THIS'LL GET US MOCKED UP. NOW IN BETWEEN THE SLIDER SUPPORTS I'M GONNA BE ADDING REENFORCEMENT PLATES. BUT RATHER THAN GO WITH JUST PLAIN FLAT STEEL, I'M
GONNA BE DIMPLE DYING SOME HOLES INTO THE PLATE. STEP ONE IN THAT IS DRILLING SOME HOLES. THEN AFTER CUTTING THE HOLES I CAN USE OUR INCH AND A HALF DIMPLE DIE THAT WE PICKED UP FROM LIGHT RACING TO FORM THE DIMPLES. OF COURSE IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR HEAVY DUTY HYDRAULIC PRESS. NOW BY ADDING THESE DIMPLES TO THE FLAT PLATE IT MAKES THEM LIGHTER, STRONGER, AND ARGUABLY BETTER LOOKING. AND IT ADDS A LITTLE BIT OF STYLE TO OUR OTHERWISE
STRAIGHT FORWARD ROCK SLIDERS. THAT'S PRETTY GOOD. NOW IN ADDITION TO THESE REENFORCEMENT PLATES I'M ALSO GONNA BE ADDING A VERTICAL SUPPORT TO THE BACK EDGE OF THE PLATE TO GIVE IT A LITTLE BIT OF STRENGTH. I'M ALSO GONNA CAP THE ENDS OF THE TUBE, BUT THAT'LL HAPPEN OFF OF THE JEEP. ONCE I FINISH TACKING THESE PLATES INTO POSITION, I CAN CUT THE TACK WELDS LOOSE AT THE FRAME AND REMOVE THE ROCK SLIDER AS ONE BIG PIECE. ALRIGHT, TO THE WELDING TABLE. NOW THE MAIN SLIDER TUBE IS STRAIGHT FOR NOW. EVERY TIME I TRY TO WELD ON IT IT'S GONNA TRY TO WARP. SO TO MINIMIZE THAT I'VE GOT IT CLAMPED TO A PIECE OF HEAVY QUARTER INCH ANGLE IRON. IT'S STILL GONNA WARP A LITTLE BIT BUT THIS WILL MINIMIZE IT. THEN I CAN WELD IN ALL THE REENFORCEMENT PLATES IN A SERIES OF TACK WELDS.
(ANNOUNCER)>> WHEN WE COME BACK WE'LL BATTLE THE TRAIL AND MOTHER NATURE, STICK AROUND.
(RYAN)>> HEY GUYS, WELCOME BACK TO TRUCK TECH. WE'RE UP HERE AT GOLDEN MOUNTAIN PARK IN SPARTA, TENNESSEE, TO TEST OUT OUR JK.
NOW IT RAINED ON OUR TRIP OVER HERE AND THEY'RE FORECASTING MORE. SO WE'RE GONNA TRY TO SQUEEZE IN SOME QUICK WHEELING. THAT WATER'S NOT HELPING. GOLDEN MOUNTAIN'S GOT SOME OF THE BEST WHEELING IN THE REGION, AND THEIR TRAILS GO FROM MILD TO QUITE CHALLENGING. YEP, ROCKERS ARE DOING THEIR JOB. THIS WATER AND MUD'S GONNA BE PUSHING ME AROUND ALL DAY I THINK.
I'M GONNA GO AROUND THAT SUPER NASTY SPOT. NOW WE HAD OUR TOYO MUD TERRAINS AIRED DOWN TO ABOUT 10 PSI ON OUR ALUMINUM BEAD LOCK WHEELS
AND THEY WERE WORKING REALLY WELL. AND WITH OUR HEAVY DUTY FRONT AXLE, 35 SPLINE DIFF AND AXLE SHAFTS, WE KNEW WE COULD GET ON THE THROTTLE A LITTLE BIT WITHOUT FEAR OF BREAKING
AN AXLE SHAFT EVERY TIME WE DID. NOW THE SUSPENSION WAS WORKING REALLY WELL AND TAKING US FARTHER OFF THE TRAIL THAN THIS JK PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN GOING. THIS IS DEFINITELY A DIFFICULT TRAIL, AND IS USUALLY TRAVERSED BY BUGGIES OR PEOPLE THAT REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT BODY DAMAGE. BUT WE'LL SEE HOW IT GOES. ALRIGHT, NOW EVERYTHING'S GOING GOOD SO FAR. AND THE TIME WE SPENT BUILDING ROCK SLIDERS AND SKID PLATES IS PAYING OFF BECAUSE WE'RE DRAGGING THIS THING ACROSS SOME BOULDERS. EVEN OUR HEAVY DUTY STEERING LINKAGE TOOK A PRETTY GOOD HIT BUT SEEMS TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE. SO LET'S KEEP GOING.
NOW OUR BDS LONG ARM KIT AND FOX SHOCKS MAKE THIS JEEP RIDE GREAT OUT ON THE ROAD, AND IT'S HANDLING THIS TRAIL PRETTY WELL TOO. WELL THE ODDS AREN'T REAL GOOD THAT THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN BECAUSE THE FARTHER WE MADE IT THE TOUGHER THE TERRAIN. THE FRONT END FEELS A LITTLE LIGHT.
AND IN A RUSH TO GET ON THE TRAIL I REMEMBERED TO AIR DOWN THE TIRES BUT FORGOT TO DISCONNECT THE
FRONT SWAY BAR UNTIL ABOUT HALF WAY UP THE TRAIL. I HOPE THAT'S NOT SOME TWISTED FORESHADOWING. I'LL TAKE THIS WITH ME. CLEAN UP THE TRAIL.
ALRIGHT IF I GET OVER THIS LITTLE RISE AM I GOOD TO KINDA GET AFTER IT?
THOUGHT THAT MIGHT HAPPEN. HEY THERE'S A WINCH ON THE FRONT OF THIS THING RIGHT? YEAH, THAT'S NOT GONNA GET BETTER ON ITS OWN. IT'S GONNA JUST KEEP PULLING MY FRONT END DOWN HILL AND GO FROM BAD TO WORSE. I THINK NOW IS WHEN YOU JUST PULL OUT THE WINCH AND MOVE ON. INSIDE OUR RECOVERY KIT IS A TREE SAVER, WHICH WILL PREVENT US FROM DAMAGING THE BARK ON THE TREE. HUGGING THIS TREE. I'M GONNA LIKE IT A WHOLE LOT IF IT GETS ME OUT OF THIS BIND.
NOW WINCHES AREN'T JUST FOR GETTING VEHICLES UNSTUCK FROM DEEP MUD. THEY CAN ALSO BE USED AS A TOOL TO GET YOU FURTHER UP THE TRAIL AND DO SO SAFELY.
AH, MUCH BETTER, THAT FEELS MUCH SAFER! THAT WINCH JUST PAID FOR ITSELF.
(RYAN)>> HEY GUYS, WELCOME BACK TO THE TEST OF OUR FORMERLY TWO WHEEL DRIVE JEEP WRANGLER. WE'RE WINDING IN THE WINCH ROPE WITH OUR WIRELESS REMOTE BECAUSE IT JUST GOT US OUT OF A PRECARIOUS SITUATION. I LIKE HOW IT KEEPS THE MONITOR ON, TEMPERATURE AND BATTERY LEVELS, PRETTY SLICK!
NOW AFTER FINALLY REMEMBERING TO DISCONNECT THE FRONT SWAY BAR I COULD INSTANTLY FEEL THE INCREASE IN SUSPENSION TRAVEL GOING OVER THE ROCKS AND IT RODE A LITTLE SOFTER TOO.
NOW WITH THE RAIN HOLDING OFF WE WERE ACTUALLY DOING OKAY WORKING OUR WAY UP THIS TIGHT AND NASTY TRAIL. AND WHILE IT LOOKS DRY, THE TIRES WERE TELLING A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT STORY. AND GRAVITY AND PHYSICS STARTING TAKING OVER.
A LITTLE SLICK OUT HERE. I NEED A VEIGHT. I COULD'VE HAD A VEIGHT. AND HERE'S THE EFFECT ON OUR DENT FREE APPROXIMATELY 5,000 POUND JEEP. AT THAT POINT I DECIDED TO GET OUT AND TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE TRAIL. ALRIGHT, NOW IT LOOKS PRETTY NASTY UP HERE. WE'RE PROBABLY GETTING IN OVER OUR HEAD BUT WE'RE GONNA GIVE IT A SHOT. AT LEAST MAKE SOME GOOD TV.
WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN? THIS RAIN DIDN'T DO US ANY FAVORS EITHER. BUT WE'RE WELL EQUIPPED, SO LET'S GO FOR IT. RIGHT AFTER I HOPPED BACK IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND FIRED IT UP, THE SKIES OPENED UP.
HOLY #á$%! CAME OFF THAT ROCK QUICK.
YEAH, WITH IT RAINING LIKE IT IS, IT'S ONLY GONNA GET WORSE. I THINK IT'S PROBABLY TIME TO HEAD BACK TO THE SHOP BEFORE WE WAD UP THIS FRESHLY NEWLY COMPLETED JEEP.
NOW PEOPLE LOVE THEIR JEEP WRANGLERS. THAT'S CLEAR, BUT IF THERE'S ONE DRAW BACK IT'S THAT THERE'S NOT A TON OF INTERIOR STORAGE ROOM, EVEN WITH THE FOUR DOOR. THEN YOU LOAD IT DOWN WITH CAMPING GEAR FOR A LONG WEEKEND AND YOU QUICKLY RUN OUT OF ROOM ON THE INSIDE. AND WITH THE TRADITIONAL SOFT TOP YOU CAN'T STACK THINGS ON THE ROOF. WELL THAT'S ALL CHANGED WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF THE RUGGED RIDGE EXO TOP. NOW WHAT ALLOWS THE EXO TOP TO CARRY WEIGHT ABOVE THE CLOTH IS THE SUBSTANTIAL FRAME WORK THAT YOU AN ATTACH ALL YOUR OUTDOOR GEAR TO.
NOW THE KIT INCLUDES, OBVIOUSLY, THE FRAME WORK, THE DOOR SURROUNDS, THE BRACKETRY, ESSENTIALLY EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO CONVERT YOUR FACTORY SOFT TOP TO AN EXO TOP. THE FABRIC ITSELF IS A HEAVY GRADE BLACK DIAMOND
SOFT TOP MATERIAL. THE WINDOWS ARE TINTED, AND THEY'RE PRESSED AND POLISHED TO BE OPTICALLY CLEAR. LET'S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK ON THE JEEP. ESSENTIALLY THE FRAME WORK ATTACHES TO THE JEEP. THE SOFT TOP FITS AROUND IT ATTACHING TO THE BODY AND SUSPENDED BY THE FRAME WORK. ANOTHER COOL FEATURE IS THEIR SUN SLIDER, WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO SLIDE THE FRONT PORTION OF THE TOP BACK TO LET SOME SUNSHINE IN WITHOUT EVEN GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE. IT ALSO RETAINS THE FUNCTIONALITY OF YOUR NORMAL SOFT TOP, ALLOWING YOU TO UNZIP AND REMOVE THE REAR WINDOWS, TUCK IN THE REAR PORTIONS, AND CREATE WHAT THEY CALL A SAVANNAH TOP.
SO IF YOU'VE GOT A TWO OR FOUR DOOR JK AND YOU NEED A NEW SOFT TOP OR YOU JUST WANT TO INCREASE ITS FUNCTIONALITY AND FUN FACTOR, CHECK OUT THE RUGGED RIDGE EXO TOP. GUYS THANKS FOR WATCHING TRUCK TECH,
SEE YOU NEXT TIME.
