Everyone has their own specific taste, and there is a certain kind of demographic of the population hungry for a power-packed burnout machine.

According to data compiled by iSeeCars, there are certain parts of the country where speed and power are held in high regard. After analyzing 4 million sales of pre-owned passenger vehicles, which includes coupes, sedans, convertibles, and hatchbacks, as well as which ones were able to produce over 400 horsepower (twice the amount of average cars), they came up with the top 10 U.S. states where muscle cars can feel right at home.

Texas is ranked first as the state with an appetite for horsepower. Based on the data, the Lone Star State displayed 5% of pre-owned sales featured a car with over 400 horsepower. That is 1.4 times the national average of 3.6%. One percent of all pre-owned vehicle sales in Texas were Ford Mustang models, which is near twice that of the number of Mustangs being purchased in Florida.

Florida, California, and New Jersey were also ranked in the top 10 U.S. states with pre-owned car sales with 400+ horsepower. However, a good number of those sales are more the result of high-performance sports cars like Maseratis, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, and Aston Martins, among many other European brands.

However, places like South Florida and Southern California were shown to display a greater appreciation for your classic muscle car. Because when it’s the same warm and sunny weather all year, it’s always a good time to break out the Challenger. New Jersey, on the other hand, may come as a surprise to some given its closeness to the densely-populated New York City. But given that the state is also ranked the third highest for household median income in the U.S., that suggests that NJ residents can afford that dream car.

In eight of the top 10 states, the Ford Mustang was ranked the most popular muscle car regarding pre-owned sales. Meanwhile, in states like New Jersey and Wyoming, the Chevrolet Camaro was the car of choice.
