Your average auto enthusiast may recognize Tim Kuniskis as the Dodge brand CEO since 2021. He has been involved in the auto industry since 1992 and has played a major role on a corporate level in other major brands like Jeep, FIAT, Alpha Romero, Maserati, and Chrysler. Now, it has been announced that Kuniskis will be serving double-duty now that, after a few executive changes taking place in high-level positions at Stellantis Global, he will be appointed as the new CEO of both Dodge and Ram brands starting July 1st, 2023.

Mike Koval, who was the previous Ram CEO, will be stepping down to serve as the new head of Mopar North America to oversee the parts division for Chrysler, Ram, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles, which puts a strong emphasis on personal customization and performance.

Tim Kuniskis and the Unofficial Reunion of Dodge and Ram

As the new CEO of Dodge and Ram, Tim Kuniskis may notice the amount of overlap the two brands have. As many of us recall, Ram was once covered under the Dodge umbrella from 1980 up until 2010. Dodge Rams were some of the biggest pickup contenders on the market, providing worthy competition against the Ford F-Series and Chevrolet C/K trucks (which eventually evolved into the Silverado in 1999). Despite being its own brand for over a decade since separating itself from Dodge, many people still consider modern-day Ram trucks “Dodges.”

Other Corporate Changes at Stellantis

Tim Kuniskis isn’t the only high-level executive at Stellantis that is involved in some corporate musical chairs within the company. FIAT CEO Olivier Francois will also be serving as a dual-brand CEO, taking over for DS Automobiles from its current leader, Beatrice Foucher. As if being the CEO of two major auto brands isn’t enough, Francois will also be appointed as the Global Chief Marketing Officer for Stellantis. In an almost domino-effect style of promotions, Foucher is being promoted to Chief Planning Officer. And the previous Chief Planning Officer, Olivier Bourges, will be moving on to be the Global Corporate and Public Affairs Officer of Stellantis.

“These changes demonstrate that the diversity of talent and experience inside Stellantis’ top executive team make it possible to adapt our leadership team to address the challenging business environment while continuing the success story that this team has built over the past two and a half years with the focused execution of the Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan,” says Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.
