The Shelby Ford F-250 Super Baja Is As Crazy As It Sounds

There’s nothing we love more than a rugged truck, especially one that can take on all of the elements without breaking a sweat. The interest and demand for the Ram TRX and Ford Raptor are living proof of that notion, so it makes sense why Shelby would combine the two names of F-250 and Baja to reach the big-truck customer base.

The F-250 Super Baja comes with various off-road goodies, and of course, a mighty Powerstroke to match. Under the hood is a massive turbocharged 6.7L V8 diesel engine that produces 475 horsepower and an astonishing 1050-pound-feet of torque. As you might imagine, the price tag is pretty impressive too.

The Shelby F-250 Super Baja starts its life as a 2021 Ford F-250 Lariat 4×4. It comes with the Ford Ultimate package that asks $68,415 to start. The Super Baja package will add an estimated $57,470 to the bottom line, which brings the truck to a whopping $125,805.

What does this buy you? Well, a lot – you can expect embroidered leather seats and floor mats with the Shelby logo, billet racing pedals, custom carbon-fiber inlays, and a serialized dash plate that indicates the build number, which can also be found on the engine cover.

Underneath the Super Baja? That’s where you’ll find the cool stuff, including custom radius arms up front, a steering stabilizer, and a BDS lift kit. Shelby’s front suspension uses heavy-duty coil springs with dual adjustable 2.5-inch Fox dampers for when things get interesting off-road.

The rear axles are fitted with 2.5-inch Fox external bypass dampers. The truck sits on 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM3’s that are mounted to 18-inch Shelby aluminum wheels. The lights are impressive as well – a curved 40-inch front light bar, 11.8-inch LED fog lights and a 50-inch power-actuated light bar that’s mounted to the top of the rack.

When you reach the six-figure mark, it becomes a serious investment, especially when you take into consideration the amount of diesel the F-250 chugs. No matter how you spin it, the truck is a beast, and there are plenty of big truck fans out there who agree the world needs more crazy three-quarter-ton diesel off-road trucks. Fortunately, they’re big enough to live in with a price tag like that.
