We see the comments, we read the consensus online about your feelings toward the new Bronco and Bronco Sport. We get it – it’s hard to take a classic and modernize it, especially when it was already done so well before.

When you see a remake of an old movie, you know it’ll never come close to the original. We get it. With that said, the ability to say you’ve conquered Hells Gate isn’t a feat that should be taken lightly, and that’s why we feel the Bronco and Bronco Sport are different than just another remake.

An epic video released by Vaughn Gittin Jr. of Loren Healy driving a Ford Bronco Sport with Badlands-trim at the infamous Hells Gate during the 2021 Bronco Safari has set the internet ablaze. We’re sure you’ve seen the videos of other modified trucks or Jeep’s failing to climb Moab’s steep rocks – which are admittedly hard to resist – but here we witness an example of the Bronco Sport crawling up the run like it was coming home from a long night at the pub. Slow, and steady.

Yes, the Bronco Sport is equipped with Badlands package and has 29-inch all-terrain tires and 8.8-inches of ground clearance, but it’s still stock – despite it not being a base model. However, from the looks of it, you can drive this straight from the dealership and own Hells Gate.

As you can imagine, it wasn’t without its share of close calls, despite making it to the top. In the video posted below, you can see a point when two wheels are completely off the ground. It seemed a bit dicey for a moment, but it overcame it without incident.

The Bronco Sport comes in various trims and has two engines to choose from. The only drivetrain available in the Badlands edition is the 2.0L, 245-horsepower inline-four. The power is sent to all four wheels through an advanced AWD system that mimics a locking rear diff.

All of this should prove the Bronco and Bronco Sport are more than capable of handling all-terrain and are much tougher than people realize. It’s time to put some respect on the name – it’s the real deal.
