Dashcam Video Shows Man’s Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Get Wrecked By Valet During a Joyride
Ever since that one scene in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, valet drivers have gotten a bad rap. Which is understandable, since the amount of trust you place in a complete stranger with your vehicle can be frightening. Unfortunately, for the owner of a 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, those trust issues became nightmare fuel after the vehicle’s built-in dashcam captured video of the moment when a valet driver decided that another person’s vehicle with an estimated value of $83,995 would be the perfect vessel for a little joyride.

When a CT5-V Blackwing Joyride Turns Into a Nightmare
Video recorded by the Performance Data Recorder of the CT5-V Blackwing was shared by 11 Alive in Atlanta, GA. According to the NBC affiliate, the name of the car’s owner is ironically, “Joe Luck.” In the video, Luck watched as the valet driver left with his car to park it at the restaurant he was attending, assuming that his Cadillac was in safe hands. However, things quickly went downhill when the driver, already hypnotized by the roar of the Blackwing’s 6.2-liter V8 engine, decided to attempt a U-turn in the middle of a four-lane street.
But rather than getting hit with a small dose of adrenaline, the valet driver got hit with a big dose of Dodge Challenger.
Following the collision, the valet driver is heard calling his supervisor, informing them of the accident after a flurry of muted curse words.
A second side-angle view of the accident shows the reckless U-turn maneuver prior to the hit.
What was the damage?
Walkaround footage shows most of the left rear side of the CT5-V Blackwing crushed in. The activation of the car’s airbag system could also indicate that there may be some interior damage as well. According to Luck, the rear driver’s side axle was also dislodged from the car.
It turns out that this CT5-V Blackwing was more than just a nice car, it was Luck’s dream car. “I’ve been waiting for a year-and-a-half for it,” Luck told 11Alive. “These cars are very hard to get… semiconductor shortages, cars have been on long wait times.”
According to Luck, he only had the car for six months, and it only had 4,000 miles on the odometer.
What is next for the owner?
In a statement released by the valet company, National Parking, the employee responsible for the incident has since been fired, and that their insurance will be working with Luck to resolve the matter. However, Luck has not heard of any solutions coming from the valet company’s insurance, hoping that they will either pay for the damage done to his CT5-V Blackwing or get him a new one.
But once this entire ordeal is behind him, will Luck ever trust a valet driver again? According to him, that’s a big no.
