(ANNOUNCER)>> TODAY ON
XTREME OFF ROAD OUR END OF THE WORLD SUBURBAN GETS
THE ULTIMATE IN BOMB PROOF RELIABLE AXLES, PORTALS. PLUS OUR DESERT RACER
BUCKIN' BRONCO RECEIVES A TRANSMISSION READY TO
HANDLE THE BRUTE STRENGTH OF THE COYOTE'S
POWER PLANT. AND WHEN A BOUNTY HILL
LAYS A $25,000 DOLLAR PRIZE ON THE LINE THINGS
ARE GONNA GET A LITTLE HAIRY.
(IAN)>> I DON'T THINK I'VE EVER BEEN MORE EXCITED TO START WORK ON A PROJECT HERE IN THE XTREME SHOP.
NOW IF YOU GUYS REMEMBER, WE'RE GONNA TURN THIS 1991 SQUARE BODY CHEVROLET SUBURBAN INTO THE ULTIMATE
VEHICLE THAT CAN HANDLE ANYTHING THAT MAY COME UP
AT THE INEVITABLE END OF THE WORLD. NOW I'M GONNA BUILD THIS TRUCK A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT. NORMALLY I'D BASICALLY TEAR THIS WHOLE RIG APART DOWN TO A BARE FRAME RAIL AND START FROM THERE. INSTEAD I'M GONNA GO AHEAD AND START PUTTING TOGETHER THE INDIVIDUAL COMPONENTS AWAY FROM THE TRUCK, AND THEN I'LL SWAP EVERYTHING INTO THE FRAME AT ONE TIME, AND WE'RE GONNA START TODAY WITH THE AXLES. THE AXLES FOR THIS PROJECT WILL START AS A SET THAT YOU SEE US USE A LOT HERE IN THE XOR SHOP, A GM CORPORATE 14 BOLT REAR AND A DANA 60 FRONT ASSEMBLY. THE 14 BOLT HAS A 10.5 INCH RING GEAR AND IS EASILY IDENTIFIED BY THE 14 BOLTS IN THE COVER AS WELL AS THE REMOVABLE PINION SUPPORT THAT CONTAINS THREE BEARINGS TO LOCATE THE PINION AND
PREVENT DEFLECTION. THE HOUSING IS MADE WITH MASSIVE THREE AND A HALF INCH AXLE TUBES FOR EXTRA STRENGTH. UP FRONT A DANA 60 AXLE REMOVED FROM A FORD F-350. THIS AXLE CONTAINS A NINE AND THREEQUARTER INCH RING GEAR AND IS A REVERSE ROTATION GEAR SET. THAT MEANS THAT THE PINION ENGAGES THE RING ABOVE THE AXLE CENTER LINE, GIVING US MORE GROUND CLEARANCE FOR THE FRONT DRIVELINE. BOTH OF THESE AXLES ARE INCREDIBLY BEEFY, BUT FOR THIS RIG I'M ONLY PLANNING TO USE THE HOUSINGS.
SO THE FIRST STEP IN THIS AXLE BUILD, STRIP THESE UNITS TO BARE TUBES.
BOTH AXLE SHAFTS, HUBS, DRUMS, AND BACKING PLATES WILL HAVE TO GO.
BAM! HIT THE CAMERA, DON'T BE FRIGHTENED, IT WASN'T YOUR TV. THE DIFFERENTIAL IS REMOVED FROM THE HOUSING ALONG WITH THE PINION SUPPORT.
IT'S NOT UNCOMMON TO HAVE A BOLT BREAK OFF IN AN AXLE HOUSING THAT YOU BUY FROM THE JUNKYARD, BUT A LITTLE BIT OF HEAT FROM THE TORCH AND THE BOLT WILL BACK RIGHT OUT. I'M PLANNING TO REUSE THE PINION SUPPORT AND THE YOKE FROM THIS AXLE. SO TO CLEAN THEM UP I'M GONNA SOAK THEM IN SOME EVAPORUST, A NONTOXIC NONCORROSIVE WATER BASED CLEANER THAT WILL REMOVE ALL THE RUST ON BOTH OF THESE PARTS WITHOUT CAUSING ANY DAMAGE TO THE METAL OR BEARING RACES. AND WITH ONLY HALF THE PINION SUPPORT SOAKED IT'S EASY TO SEE HOW WELL IT WORKED IN JUST A FEW HOURS. SO IT'S DROPPED BACK IN TO FINISH UP THE OTHER SIDE. THE FRONT AXLE IS THEN PUT ONTO THE STAND AND
STRIPPED TO BARE TUBES.
[ AIR RATCHET SPINNING ]
[ HAMMER TAPPING ]
(IAN)>> THE SHORT SIDE AXLE TUBE IS TOO SHORT FOR THIS APPLICATION. SO IT HAS TO BE CUT FROM THE CENTER SECTION AND HAMMERED OUT WITH THE AIR HAMMER. [ AIR HAMMER VIBRATING ]
(IAN)>> WHAT'S GONNA MAKE THE AXLES FOR THIS PROJECT ONE OF THE COOLEST SET OF AXLES THAT I HAVE EVER BUILT IS THE FACT THAT AT EVERY TIRE AND WHEEL THERE'S GOING TO BE AN AXLE TECH PORTAL BOX INSTALLED. NOW NOT ONLY DO I GET AN ADDITIONAL FIVE INCHES OF GROUND CLEARANCE WITH THE AXLE TECH BOXES BECAUSE IT MOVES THE INPUT FROM THE AXLE HOUSING TO THE TOP SIDE OF THE BOX AND THE OUTPUT WHERE THE TIRE AND WHEEL BOLT UP ONTO THE BOTTOM. I ALSO GET AN ADDITIONAL ONE AND A HALF TO ONE GEAR REDUCTION RIGHT HERE AT THE TIRE AND WHEEL. NOW THAT WILL LESSEN THE LOAD ON THE REST OF THE DRIVETRAIN. I DON'T NEED TO RUN A REALLY DEEP LOW RANGE GEAR IN MY TRANSFER CASE, PUTTING MORE LOAD ON MY DRIVESHAFTS, AND I DON'T NEED TO RUN A REALLY DEEP
RING AND PINION, WHICH PUTS MORE LOAD ONTO THE AXLE SHAFT. THEY CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS ONE POINT FIVE TO ONE GEAR REDUCTION RIGHT AT THE WHEEL TO MULTIPLY THE TORQUE RIGHT BEFORE IT TOUCHES THE GROUND. NOW AXLE TECH MAKES THESE PORTAL BOXES FOR A FEW DIFFERENT AXLES. THEY DO A DANA 60 FRONT, 14 BOLT REAR, AS WELL AS THE STERLING AXLE ASSEMBLY, BUT WHAT REALLY MAKES THESE BOXES UNIQUE IS WHAT HAPPENS ON THE INSIDE. MODULAR PORTAL WHEEL END FROM AXLE TECH UTILIZES A UNIQUE FOUR GEAR DESIGN TO KEEP PROPER ROTATION IN THE SYSTEM. THE AXLE SHAFT ENTERS INTO THE DRIVE GEAR THAT IN TURN DRIVES TWO IDLER GEARS INSIDE THE BOX. THE WHEEL GEAR IS THEN DRIVEN TO PROVIDE THE GEAR REDUCTION IN THE SYSTEM AND TURN THE WHEELS. AXLE TECH COMPONENTS ARE A STAPLE IN THE MILITARY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITY, MAKING THEM THE IDEAL ITEM TO HAVE ON A RIG BEING PREPPED FOR THE END OF THE WORLD. THE SPINDLE IS CUT OFF THE REAR 14 BOLT AXLE, THE BRACKET SLID INTO PLACE, CHECKED FOR LEVEL AND SQUARE, AND TACKED.
(ANNOUNCER)>> UP NEXT WE PREP OUR FRONT AXLES FOR PORTALS AND CHECK OUT ONE OF THE WILDEST BOUNTY HILLS EVER!
(IAN)>> TO CREATE THE STEERING AXLE FOR OUR TRUCK THE PORTAL BOX ATTACHES TO THE HOUSING A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENTLY. YOU CAN SEE THAT THE AXLE TECH BOX HAS THIS SMALL STUB SHAFT ALREADY ENGAGED INTO IT. NOW THAT WILL ATTACH TO AN INNER AXLE SHAFT AND ALLOW THE ENTIRE PORTAL BOX TO TURN AT THE END OF THE HOUSING. WE NOW USE THIS BRACKET THAT COMES WITH OUR PORTAL
BOX THAT WILL ATTACH THE PORTAL TO THE FRONT AND HANG OFF OF A TRADITIONAL KING PIN INNER "C". NOW MY AXLE IS NOT A KING PIN STYLE, SO I NEED TO CONVERT IT. I'M GONNA USE THESE REED RACING INNER "C'S" TO DO THAT. NOW ONE THING THAT YOU'LL DEFINITELY WANT TO UPGRADE IN YOUR KING PIN AXLE WHEN YOU'RE READY TO INSTALL THE PORTAL BOX IS TO GET RID OF THESE SMALL, LITTLE NYLON BUSHINGS. REPLACE THEM WITH THESE REED RACING BRONZE BUSHINGS. THEY ARE JUST DESIGNED FOR A MORE SEVERE DUTY APPLICATION LIKE ROCK CRAWLING OR ROCK RACING, AND IN OUR CASE HANGING A PORTAL BOX OFF THE END OF A DANA 60, THAT COUNTS AS SEVERE DUTY. A PIECE OF THREE AND A HALF INCH, HALF INCH WALLED DOM TUBING IS CUT TO LENGTH AND GROUND SMOOTH. TO HELP WITH THE INSTALL INTO THE AXLE CENTER SECTION THE TUBE IS COOLED IN THE FREEZER SO IT WILL SHRINK. WOO HOO, CHILLY! ONCE THE TUBE IS HAMMERED INTO THE HOUSING THE REED INNER "C" CAN THEN BE TAPPED ONTO THE AXLE END. CASTOR ANGLE IS SET AT SIX DEGREES WHEN COMPARED TO THE LEAF SPRING PAD ON THE HOUSING. A YUKON GEAR KING PIN KIT AND LOWERING KING PIN UNIT ARE NEEDED TO BUILD OUT THE REST OF OUR KING PIN KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY. THE BEARING RACE IS INSTALLED INTO THE INNER "C" AND THE LOWER BEARING IS GREASED.
THE AXLE TECH BRACKET IS THEN BOLTED UP USING THE BUSHING, UPPER CAP, AND LOWER KING PIN ASSEMBLY.
[ AIR RATCHET SPINNING ]
(IAN)>> THE AXLE TECH BRACKET DOES COME WITH THE PROVISION TO KEEP THE STEERING BASICALLY IN THE STOCK LOCATIONS BUT IT'S ALSO MACHINED ON THE TOP TO ACCEPT A HIGH STEER ARM TO REPLACE THIS
FACTORY KING PIN CAP. NOW I'LL DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT I NEED HIGH STEER ON THIS RIG WHEN I GET THE AXLE UP UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK.
I NEED TO MAKE SURE I HAVE ROOM TO MOVE THE STEERING AS HIGH AS THIS PUMPKIN WILL BE SITTING UNDERNEATH THE FRAME. ALL I HAVE TO DO NOW IS MAKE THE LONG SIDE TUBE MATCH THE SHORT SIDE TUBE AND THEN THIS AXLE IS READY FOR SOME INTERNALS.
(ANNOUNCER)>> UP NEXT THERE'S $25,000 GRAND WAITING AT THE TOP OF THIS HILL AND 66 DRIVERS ARE GOING ALL OUT TO GET IT!
(IAN)>> WE'RE IN SOUTH PITTSBURG, TENNESSEE, HOME OF ADVENTURE OFF ROAD PARK'S BIGGEST BOUNTY HILL COMPETITION TO DATE. TODAY'S 66 DRIVERS ARE GOING TO TRY TO TACKLE A SERIOUSLY VERTICAL 270 FOOT LONG COURSE, ALL VYING FOR ONE OF THE LARGEST PAYOUTS IN BOUNTY HILL HISTORY, $25,000 DOLLARS.
(THOMAS)>> AND YOU KNOW I JUST WANT TO MAKE IT INTERESTING, YOU KNOW, AND I HAD SO MANY PEOPLE THAT WANTED TO HIT IT.
(RANDY)>> KNOWING IT HAD A STONE AREA, IT WILL MAKE YOU PUSH IT A LITTLE HARDER.
(BOBBY)>> IT'S GONNA BE AWESOME AND I'M VERY
EXCITED ABOUT IT, AND I DON'T KNOW. I FEEL REAL GOOD ABOUT IT.
(IAN)>> IF THERE'S ONE THING THAT KEEPS DRAWING
SPECTATORS TO BOUNTY HILLS IT'S THE PROMISE OF FULL THROTTLE ALL OUT ACTION, AND FOR THE DRIVERS THEY GET THE ADRENALINE RUSH OF BARRELING UP THE HILL WIDE
OPEN COMPETING WITH EACH OTHER FOR THE BEST TIME AND THE BEST IN SHOW.
(RICHIE)>> YOU'VE GOTTA SORT OF PUT IT INTO PERSPECTIVE. I DON'T COME TO WIN.
YOU UNDERSTAND THE REST OF THE STORY.
(IAN)>> SO YOU'RE HERE JUST TO PUT ON THE BEST SHOW TODAY AREN'T YOU?
(RICHIE)>> THAT'S ALL I CAN DO. THAT'S ALL I CAN DO. I'M TOO OLD TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE. SO I MIGHT AS WELL JUST PUT ON A SHOW.
(IAN)>> SINCE THERE ARE 66 DRIVERS COMPETING FOR THE PRIZE, THE EVENT HAS BEEN SPLIT INTO THREE DAYS OF
RACING OVER THE COURSE OF THREE MONTHS. TODAY IS THE THIRD AND FINAL DAY OF COMPETITION AND RAIN CLOUDS HOVER OVERHEAD. HOWEVER, THE HILL HAS BEEN COVERED IN A TARP BETWEEN RACES.
(THOMAS)>> IT'S TOP TO BOTTOM 270 FOOT.
MIGHT AS WELL BE 270 MILES TO SOME DRIVERS, BUT IT'S TARPED DOWN, IT'S DRY, IT'S READY.
(IAN)>> THE TIME TO BEAT IS 35.499 SECONDS, SET BY TRAVIS LOVETT ON DAY TWO, BUT TRAVIS THINKS HIS RUN CAN BE BEATEN.
(TRAVIS)>> I MADE A FEW MISTAKES. I ONLY HAD MAYBE AN HOUR'S SEAT TIME BEFORE I DROVE THAT BUGGY, AND I THINK IT CAN BE BEAT.
I THINK IT CAN BE REALLY BEATEN.
I'M READY HERE TO DEFEND IT IF I HAVE TO.
(IAN)>> BOBBY TANNER, A LEADING CONTENDER TO BEAT LOVETT, STARTED OUT STRONG BUT A TREACHEROUS LEDGE HALF WAY UP THE HILL SLOWED HIM DOWN, REQUIRING SEVERAL ATTEMPTS FOR HIM TO CLEAR IT. AND FROM THERE THINGS DIDN'T GET ANY EASIER. PITTING THEMSELVES AGAINST A STEEP OFF CAMBER HILL, MANY DRIVERS QUICKLY FOUND THEIR RIGS FLIPPED ON THEIR LIDS. IN FACT, ABOUT MID WAY THROUGH THE DAY ONLY DONALD POWELL HAD CROSSED THE FINISH LINE. IT TOOK SEVERAL EFFORTS AND OVER FIVE MINUTES, BUT THE CROWD ATE IT UP. OTHERS CAME CLOSE TO THE FINISH HOPING FOR A GOOD BOUNCE TO CATAPULT THEMSELVES OVER THE LAST LEDGE. MORE OFTEN THAN NOT HOWEVER THE HILL WAS DECIDEDLY THE VICTOR. THE RECOVERY CREW WORKED HARD AND WORKED NONSTOP. THERE WERE 11 ROLL OVERS TODAY.
PERHAPS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE WAS JOSH DAVIDSON'S 13 SECOND RIDE DOWN THE HILL.
EVEN TRAVIS LOVETT, THE RACE LEADER, WAS NOT IMMUNE AS HE ATTEMPTED TO IMPROVE HIS EARLIER RUN. NONE THE LESS HIS TIME HELD UP AND HE ALREADY HAS PLANS FOR HIS $25,000 DOLLAR PRIZE.
(TRAVIS)>> WELL ACTUALLY I'M GONNA GIVE THANKS TO NICK SOUSBY WHO BUILDS MY BUGGIES. ME AND HIM BEEN FRIENDS AND WE'RE LIKE BROTHERS NOW. WE'VE BEEN TOGETHER SO LONG AND HE WORKS FOR ME, HE BUILDS THE BUGGIES THAT I WANT, AND I'M GONNA SPLIT IT WITH HIM. THE REST WILL GO TO THE OLD LADY FOR SHOPPING MONEY. SHE'LL NEED IT FOR SOMETHING.
(ANNOUNCER)>> COMING UP WE DROP A HEAVY DUTY RACE
TRANS INTO PROJECT BUCKIN' BRONCO.
(IAN)>> AS I WORK MY WAY FROM THE FRONT TO THE BACK ON PROJECT BUCKIN' BRONCO I DON'T JUST WANT TO TAKE CARE OF THE SHEET METAL.
I ALSO WANT TO ADD ANY STRUCTURAL TUBES THAT I KNOW I'M GONNA NEED. THAT WAY I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WORKING AROUND THEM LATER ON AS I FINISH OUT THE RIG. RIGHT NOW SINCE WE'RE WORKING IN THE DRIVER'S COMPARTMENT I KNOW THAT I'M GONNA HAVE TO ADD SOME ADDITIONAL BRACES TO THIS CENTER TUBE AS WELL AS THE DROP DOWN TUBES THAT WILL TIE INTO OUR ENGINE'S MIDPLATE. NOW THAT MEANS I CAN WORK ON A LITTLE BIT OF PLACEMENT IN THE INTERIOR. THINGS LIKE EXHAUST, AND SEATS, AND TRANSMISSION CASE AND SHIFTER, AND THAT WAY I KNOW I'LL HAVE SPACE FOR THOSE AS I'M ADDING STRUCTURAL ITEMS.
IT ALL STARTS WITH SOME TUBES THAT'LL LOCK IN OUR MID PLATE THAT SUPPORTS THE REAR OF OUR ENGINE.
[ SAW CUTTING ] [ GRINDER SPINNING ]
[ WELDER CRACKLING ]
[ WELDER CRACKLING ]
(IAN)>> NOT ONLY DO THESE TWO TUBES LOCK INTO THE MID PLATE FOR OUR MOTOR, THEY ALSO NOW BECOME AN INTEGRAL PART OF OUR CHASSIS. I'LL HAVE ANOTHER SET OF TUBES THAT RUN FORWARD UNDERNEATH THE DASH TO THIS FRONT BAR, WHICH WILL
THEN TIE INTO OUR OVERHEAD WINDSHIELD BAR. THEY'LL ALSO TIE INTO BOTH OF THE NODES ON OUR BELLY PAN GOING BACK TO EITHER CORNER BOTH FRONT AND REAR. I'LL ALSO HAVE TO TIE THE TWO TUBES TOGETHER WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF TUBING THAT RUNS ACROSS. ONE AREA WHERE I DON'T WANT ANY TUBING AT ALL IS RIGHT IN THIS SECTION OF THE BELLY PAN BECAUSE THE ENGINE IS GONNA COME OUT THROUGH THE FRONT OF THIS CHASSIS BUT THE TRANSMISSION WILL HAVE TO BE ABLE TO DROP DOWN THROUGH THE BOTTOM. IF I ADDED A BUNCH OF TUBING IN HERE I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO REMOVE THAT TRANSMISSION. BUT WHAT TRANSMISSION DO YOU RUN BEHIND A COYOTE INSIDE AN ULTRA FOUR STYLE BUGGY? WELL A VERY SPECIAL ONE.
A STAPLE IN THE WORLD OF HARDCORE OFF ROADING IS THE TURBO 400 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, BUT JUST LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IT CAN BE UPGRADED. NOW I'M GONNA START BY UPGRADING THE ACTUAL TRANSMISSION CASE. THIS IS A REED RACING SUPER HYDRA 400 TRANSMISSION CASE. NOW THERE'S A LOT OF UPGRADES IN THIS SIMPLE CASE, AND THEY'RE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR USE OFF ROAD. NOW THERE'S LOTS OF MATERIAL ADDED TO THE CASE IN KEY PLACE TO PREVENT CASE FLEX, AND THE TAIL HOUSING HAS BEEN BEEFED UP FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE
ADDITIONAL TRANSFER CASES THAT YOU HANG ON THE BACK. INSIDE THE CASE THE ACTUAL LUGS THAT LOCATE THE CENTER SUPPORT ON A FACTORY CASE, THEY DON'T GO ALL THE WAY AROUND THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE CASE. ON THE REED RACING THEY DO. THAT PREVENTS WHAT'S CALLED "ZIPPERING"
OF THAT CENTER SUPPORT. IN HIGH HORSEPOWER APPLICATIONS THAT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO HAPPEN. THEY ALSO HAVE PROVISIONS FOR AN PORTS FOR THE COOLER AS WELL AS A THREADED PORT FOR THE VENT TUBE, AND IT'S BEEN TURNED DOWN LOW FOR EXTRA FLOOR BOARD CLEARANCE INSIDE, AND FEEDER TUBES THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO RUN A FOURL-80-E CENTER SUPPORT, WHICH THEN LUBRICATE THE PLANETARY GEAR SETS IN THE BACK. NOW I'M SURE SOME OF YOU ARE WONDERING RIGHT NOW, WAIT A MINUTE, THE TURBO 400? ISN'T THAT A GENERAL MOTORS TRANSMISSION? HOW ARE YOU GONNA GET IT BEHIND THE COYOTE ENGINE, WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY A FORD?
WELL REED RACING MAKES BELL HOUSINGS THAT BOLT UP TO THE 400 CASE THAT'LL ADAPT TO MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF MOTORS, AND THIS ONE WILL BOLT RIGHT UP TO THE BACK OF OUR COYOTE. THE NICE THING ABOUT THESE IS NOT ONLY WILL THEY ADAPT THE TRANSMISSION, BUT ARE ALSO SFI SPEC, WHICH MEANS THEY'RE GOOD AND STRONG. I NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANY PARTS EXITING OUT OF THIS BELL HOUSING IF I HAVE A CONVERTER FAILURE, WHICH IS GOOD NEWS BECAUSE I THINK MY RIGHT FOOT IN THIS BUGGY IS RIGHT BESIDE THAT BELL HOUSING. FOR NOW I'M JUST GONNA USE THIS EMPTY CASE FOR MOCK UP WHILE I FAB MORE TUBING INTO THE CHASSIS. SO TO PREVENT ANY DIRT FROM GETTING INTO THE
VALVE BODY I'M TAPING UP ALL THE OPENINGS IN THE TRANSMISSION CASE. THEN THE BELL HOUSING IS ATTACHED TO THE CASE, AND THE TRANSMISSION IS BOLTED TO THE BACK OF OUR COYOTE ENGINE. THE TRANSMISSION MOUNT IS PART OF THE ACTUAL TRANSFER CASE ADAPTER ON THE 400, AND WITH IT BOLTED TO THE BACK OF THE TRANS, THREE PIECES OF TUBING ARE ADDED TO HOLD THE TRANSMISSION
ASSEMBLY IN PLACE. [ WELDER CRACKLING ]
(IAN)>> THESE TWO TUBES COME OFF OF OUR TRANSMISSION MOUNT AND KICK BACK AT AN ANGLE FOR A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT REASONS. THE FIRST IS IF IT WAS A STRAIGHT BAR ACROSS IT'D BE HARD TO GET THE TRANSMISSION OUT OF THE CHASSIS. WITH THIS OPEN SPACE ON EITHER SIDE, ONCE THE TRANSMISSION IS BROKEN FREE FROM THE ENGINE, YOU CAN TURN IT ON THE JACK AND THEN LOWER IT DOWN THROUGH THIS OPEN SPACE.
THE SECOND IS TO TIE IT INTO THE CHASSIS AT A VERY STRONG POINT. RIGHT HERE AT THIS PART OF THE CHASSIS THERE WILL BE ANOTHER TUBE COMING BACK INTO THE REAR TUBE SECTION, AND THAT'LL CREATE ONE OF THOSE NODES THAT I'M ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT WHERE LOTS OF TUBES CONVERGE INTO ONE AREA. NOW I WILL ADD A LITTLE BIT EXTRA STRENGTH, MAYBE A NICE BIG PLATE HERE, TO PREVENT ANY BENDING. MAYBE A BIG DIMPLE DYE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT, AND THEN I JUST HAVE TO ADD, MUCH LIKE THE FRONT, PROBABLY A GOOD DOZEN TUBES AND THE WE'RE DONE MOCKING UP OUR TRANNY.
