The FJ60 Makeover Begins

A new project rolls into the shop—our 1987 FJ60 Land Cruiser, and the plan is simple: turn it into an affordable resto-mod daily driver with modern power, suspension, and comfort upgrades. First, we look back at how it drives now and break down the game plan. Then it’s teardown time, followed by getting the axles ready for what’s coming next: a refreshed third member with updated gears and lockers, plus full axle rebuilds—knuckles, inners, outers, and new brakes.
