UPDATE: Watch Every Car Ad from the Big Chiefs/Eagles Game on Sunday

Sunday, February 12th, 2023 had the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the biggest game of the year. Because there were millions of eyes on this game, it was prime real estate for advertisers. Of course, this means that according to AdAge, a 30-second spot comes with a $7 million price tag.

In 2022, it was the year of the EV as many automakers like Chevrolet, Toyota, Nissan, and BMW came in hot with many of their debut electric vehicles. However, it appears that not many auto brands have bought up ad space this year, as Kia, GM, and Stellantis appear to be the only major automakers that showcased their commercial chops during the big game.

Kia Introduces the 2023 Telluride X-Pro All-Terrain AWD SUV… and Binky Dad

Even though car ads this year are going to be on the lighter end, that doesn’t mean that automakers like Kia aren’t going to capitalize on the lack of competition. The first teaser for Kia’s new Telluride X-Pro All-Terrain AWD SUV was released ahead of the game with the debut of “Binky Dad”. Tasked with the mission of finding his infant daughter’s favorite pacifier, “Binky Dad” must take the Kia on an over-the-top adventure while being cheered on by bystanders, sports stars, and the media.

Kia also noted that the ad will feature three alternative endings that will be shared exclusively on TikTok.

General Motors and Netflix Partner to Give EVs More Screentime

Both GM and Netflix have joined forces by announcing that many of their upcoming EVs will be featured in more original Netflix programming as part of their “EVerybody In” campaign. But in the Victorian Era or the 1980’s? No.

Leading the charge of the “EVerybody In” campaign is none other than comedic actor Will Farrell, who is seen below in a wide selection GM’s EVs across many of Netflix’s signature shows.

Jeep’s Environmentally Friendly 4xe and the “Electric Boogie”

Even though Jeep released its 4xe models in 2021, this is the first time it has amassed such a large viewing audience. Even though the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Jeep Cherokee 4xe are hybrids, both models are equipped with an electric drivetrain with a range of 22 miles and 26 miles, respectively. By promoting it as a friend to nature, Jeep featured many CGI critters dancing to the remixed version of “Electric Boogie” that was produced by Reggae artist, Shaggy.

Ram’s 1500 Revolution Seeks to Solve The “Premature Electrification” Issue

Many men in a particular age group may experience issues with a problem known as “Premature Electrification.” Because many new EV drivers can often feel worried that the range on their vehicle won’t be as long as they would assume, and it can take a toll on their lives, and the lives of those around them.
