Companies like Carvana and Carmax have been profiting off an online used car market for the last few years. Now, GM has decided to get in on the action.

The automaker introduced CarBravo, a new way to shop for used vehicles. According to the release from GM, CarBravo will “elevate the shopping, buying and ownership experience by offering used-vehicle customers access to an expansive inventory, an omnichannel shopping experience and exclusive ownership benefits”.

Customers of CarBravo will have a large inventory of used vehicles to choose from. Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC dealers across the country will be able to list their inventory for buyers. GM reports it expects to have around 400,000 vehicles in its dealer network. In addition, GM Financial will also be participating, with cars and trucks returning from leases or rental car companies to be made available.

Dealer enrollment begins immediately, and the consumer launch is expected to begin in spring 2022. With the used vehicle market being so hot, GM may be on to something here.
