Charge Models Its Upcoming Electric Mustang After the 1967 Fastback

Muscle cars of the 1960’s and 1970’s have been some of the most coveted and adored vehicles in the automotive world. That’s why British electric automaker Charge Cars has revealed its production-intent Electric Mustang modeled after the iconic 1967 Fastback.

Charge’s upcoming Electric Mustang will be a very limited production model, as the company is currently taking reservations on only 499 models with a ticket price starting at £350,000 ($460,678 USD).

By modeling the car after the ’67 Fastback line-for-line, Charge strongly believes that this rare car will forge a strong emotional bond with its drivers. Especially with its integration with the latest in EV technology to deliver a muscle car with a luxury car experience.

“This is not a restored, electrified classic car,” says Charge CEO Mark Roberts. “We’ve respected the iconic silhouette and the classic lines of the ’67, but we’ve given the car a fresh, contemporary feel by streamlining features and minimizing panels.”

Charge’s Mustang will come equipped with a 64 kWh battery that will power a dual-motor, all-wheel drive system, 536 horsepower, and 1,106 lb-ft of torque, hinting that the car will be able to reach 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and a battery life of 200 miles off of a full charge.
