Top 5 Things About The 2024 Ford Mustang You Need To Know

The 2024 Ford Mustang is one of the most anticipated new vehicles of the year as it will serve as the debut of its seventh generation. Designed to invoke excitement and thrills, this new breed will remind its muscle car competitors like the Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Camaro why it has been a force to be reckoned with since it first arrived in 1964. Scheduled to enter its production phase in the Summer of 2023, Ford fans can expect this new version of the Mustang to be bigger, badder, and bolder than all of its predecessors.

With that being said, the new Mustang doesn’t intend on not living up to the hype. If anything, customers can expect on it raising the bar for high-performance and style. So here are five things you should know about the 2024 Mustang, and why everyone is excited for it.

The 2024 Mustang Boasts a Stock 5.0-Liter V8 Engine

The 2024 Mustang is coming hot out of the gate with two different engines: a four-cylinder turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost, and the highly-anticipated 5.0-liter Coyote V8.

Coming equipped in the Mustang GT, this fourth-generation 5.0-liter V8 was designed to generate the most naturally aspirated horsepower than any other Mustang to date. Featuring a dual air intake box and dual-throttle body design, it has a higher air flow rate, thus minimizing induction loss.

“This is the most athletic and confidence-inspiring Mustang EcoBoost and GT to drive yet,” says Ford Mustang Chief Nameplate Engineer Ed Krenz. “Whether driving an automatic or manual transmission, thanks to drive modes combined with fine-tuned digital engine, suspension and steering controls, we’re now able to give drivers peak performance everywhere, from their favorite roads to their local track.”

And in case you were wondering, Ford has not teased this vehicle as an EV. Meaning that it is purely focused on customers that understand and appreciate the functionality and performance of a naturally-aspirated internal combustion engine.

The 2024 Mustang Has a More Muscular Exterior and 11 Color Options

2024 Ford Mustang

While the 2024 Mustang does share the same size and shape of its predecessors, it will not share the same European/sporty look. Designed to appear leaner and more aggressive-looking, the 7th generation Mustang dives back into its roots as an all-American muscle car, while still being built for the modern age.

This is noticed through the evolution of the Mustang’s front end. Starting in 2015, the bumper has gradually become more blunt and defined. As a result, its signature shark nose has also become more pronounced and noticeable. The 2024 Mustang will also be available in 11 exterior color options featuring two shades, Vapor Blue and Yellow Splash, as well as various stripe colors too.

A fun Easter egg found on the 2024 model is a graphic on the rear windshield that displays a timeline featuring an outline of every iteration of the Mustang leading up to the current one.

The 2024 Mustang Features a Fully-Digital Instrument Cluster

As mentioned before, the 2024 Mustang is intended to be an all-American muscle car for the modern age. Part of that includes the previous dual-cowl dashboard being replaced by a futuristic, digital instrument cluster, as well as a touch-screen infotainment system that many younger Ford fans will love and appreciate.

The stock model will feature two separate screens spanning from the driver’s side to the center of the cabin, while the Mustang GT and EcoBoost Premium will feature one singular dashboard panel consisting of both the instrument cluster and the infotainment system.

This improved cabin experience is backed by an unconventional source, the Unreal 5 Gaming system to create its in-system animations and graphics. But Ford isn’t the only automaker utilizing this technology for its newer models. Both Rivian and GM’s designers have also found value in implementing this technology into their dashboard interfaces.

A Redesigned Interior Gives the 2024 Mustang Extra Style Points

Ford has added several enhancements to the Mustang’s interior with comfort and style in mind. Its fighter jet-inspired cockpit makes the driver feel like they are at the center helm with a pair of digital displays in their field of view.

Standard Mustang models will have its stock cloth interior with optional vinyl inserts, while the Premium models will feature some more exclusive finishes including accented stitching on the instrument panel and door trim, leather seat inserts, and more. Meanwhile, some of the higher-end Mustangs will offer customers their choice of interior collections that offer color-coordinated stitching, upholstery, and additional accents found throughout the cabin.

The B&O sound system will also produce a unique listening experience for Mustang owners with its Bluetooth compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Customers Can Expect to Pay at Least $30k for the 2024 Mustang

While Ford has not officially announced the price of the 2024 Mustang, customers can expect the base EcoBoost model’s price to start around $30,000, according to KBB. Plus, given the current state of the auto industry where new vehicles are in low supply and high demand, customers should not be surprised if the MSRP is slightly higher than the previous model.

The more desired Mustang GT with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine and 6-speed manual transmission is estimated to have a sticker price closer to $40,000.

Considering the number of upgrades the 2024 Mustang will be boasting, customers will certainly be getting their money’s worth.
