The Ford Maverick Receives Top Honors From Consumer Reports For “Best Small Truck” and “Best Fuel Efficient Truck”
As competitive as the pickup truck market is, sometimes big honors come in small packages. This is due to the Ford Maverick being named the “Best Small Truck”, and the Ford Maverick Hybrid the “Best Fuel Efficient Truck” by Consumer Reports.

While the Ford Maverick may not be in the spotlight as much as its bigger sibling, the F-150, the truck is still an effective, compact, and affordable pickup that customers can use for occasional towing and hauling. This truck has a starting MSRP of $23,400, which is extremely attractive to many budget-conscious buyers in the market for a new truck.
It also follows the “Ford Tough” mantra, with a towing capacity of 4,000 lbs, and a max payload of 1,544 lbs. Not to mention that it is available with the off-roading TREMOR package on the XLT and Lariat trims for an additional $3,495.
“Glad to see @ConsumerReports named the 2024 @Ford Maverick the best small truck and the Maverick Hybrid the best fuel efficient truck in its 2024 Buying Guide,” Ford CEO Jim Farley wrote from his Twitter/X account. “Love seeing more and more Mavericks on the road and all the ways customers are using them!”
In addition, the Ford Maverick Hybrid, which features a 2.5L Hybrid engine ranks high for the “Best Fuel Efficient Truck”. With its automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT), it provides seamless shifting, which results in smoother acceleration and an estimated 42 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
