The 2025 Maverick features significant updates inside and out. The exterior and interior have been refreshed, with the addition of a 13.2-inch center touchscreen, an all-wheel-drive hybrid option, and modern connectivity features such as a 5G modem and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Additional features include:

  1. Advanced Safety Features: The 2025 model comes with Ford Co-Pilot360, a suite of advanced safety and driver-assist technologies, including pre-collision assist, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping system, and adaptive cruise control.
  2. Off-Road Capability: The Tremor package, designed for off-road enthusiasts, includes a beefed-up suspension, skid plates, and a more robust all-wheel-drive system to handle rough terrains.
  3. Interior Comfort: Upgraded interior materials and options such as a premium sound system, dual-zone climate control, and improved seating add to the comfort and luxury of the ride.
  4. Improved Performance: The introduction of the Maverick Lobo model, with its lower suspension, upgraded brakes, and specific tuning, caters to those looking for a more dynamic driving experience.

Rising Popularity and Sales

Since its introduction, the Maverick has attracted a growing number of customers, many of whom are purchasing their first new vehicle. Ford reports that 80% of Maverick owners previously did not own a truck. The demand has been so high that sales and production have surged by 77% in the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2023.

Pricing and Market Position

The starting price for the 2025 Maverick hybrid model is $26,295, up from about $20,000 for the 2022 model. Despite the price increase, Todd Eckert, Ford’s truck product marketing and brand manager, emphasizes that the Maverick remains the most affordable pickup truck on the market, especially given the average new vehicle price hovers around $50,000. This price point provides significant value, considering the advanced features and hybrid technology that come standard with the new Maverick models.

Ford’s New Performance and Hybrid Models

The new Maverick lineup includes an off-road “Tremor” package, featuring a more robust suspension and an all-wheel-drive system. This model aims to enhance Ford’s presence in the truck market under CEO Jim Farley’s strategic direction.

The Maverick is offered with two engine options: a 2.5-liter hybrid engine producing an estimated 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine delivering 238 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

Availability and Production

Customers can start ordering the 2025 Maverick from August 1, with deliveries expected to commence in late 2024. The trucks will be manufactured at Ford’s Hermosillo assembly plant in Mexico, which is known for producing high-quality vehicles. Ford plans to ramp up production to meet the anticipated high demand.

Introducing the Maverick Lobo

In addition to the standard models, Ford is introducing the Maverick Lobo, a street-oriented performance truck. Named “Lobo” (Spanish for “wolf” and the F-150’s name in Mexico), this version features a lower suspension, upgraded brakes, and a sporty aesthetic with unique wheels and color accents. The Lobo mode, designed for off-public road use, enhances driving dynamics by enabling torque vectoring and reducing stability control intervention.

The Maverick Lobo starts at $36,595, with a more equipped variant available for $42,090. Deliveries are slated to begin in early 2025, adding another exciting option to the Maverick lineup.

The Journey Continues

The 2025 Ford Maverick continues to expand its appeal with new technology, hybrid options, and performance enhancements. As it attracts new customers and drives sales, the Maverick is set to maintain its position as a popular and accessible choice in the compact truck segment. Additionally, the introduction of the Lobo model and the Tremor package offers even more versatility, catering to both urban drivers and off-road enthusiasts alike. Ford’s commitment to innovation and affordability ensures the Maverick’s continued success in a competitive market.
