Chevrolet Announces Its 2023 Silverado Police Pursuit Vehicle

Chevrolet reveals its first pursuit-rated Silverado.

Chevrolet has already achieved great success supporting law enforcement with Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle for the last 25 years. Now the automaker has announced its latest edition for highway patrol, the 2023 Silverado Police Pursuit Vehicle.

“We are constantly having conversations with customers and evaluating how we can better meet their needs,” said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of GM Fleet in a press release. “Our 25 years of engineering Tahoe police pursuit vehicles coupled with Chevrolet’s 100 years of truck success, puts us in a great position to deliver a truly capable Silverado PPV for our customers.”

The Silverado PPV does have some of the regular features found in the Tahoe PPV, like the 355-horsepower 5.3L V-8 engine, 10-speed automatic transmission, six-piston Brembo brake front calipers, 16-inch rotors, and an improved air filter.

Of course, because it is designed for police departments, the Silverado PPV will also feature some additional upgrades to ensure confidence and driveability while at top speeds like a certified speedometer, 20-inch black steel wheels, 20-inch Goodyear all-terrain speed-rated tires, and a 46.9-foot turning radius.

For hauling and transportation needs, the Silverado PPV has a 9,300-pound max towing capacity, Rancho shocks, locking rear differential, skid plate, and an optional 2-inch lifted suspension for those off-roading moments.

The 2023 Silverado PPV will be available in late summer 2022 in the US and Canada,
