Cadillac’s Escalade-V Boasts Power and Volume in New Teaser

Cadillac had one primary objective when developing the new Escalade-V: be the loudest, most powerful SUV on the line. In a new teaser released by the brand, it appears that its engineers may have done just that.

“Power has a sound-and it’s a roar,” Cadillac tweeted out with a video sample of the Escalade-V’s LT4 V8 engine. (Crank your volume to max to feel the full wrath of the V8’s sound)

With 682 horsepower and 653 lb-ft of torque under the hood, the Escalade-V also comes with exhaust tips extending out of the rear bumper to really make its presence known.

“Customers and enthusiasts have asked for an Escalade-V, and we’re thrilled to bring this high-performance SUV to market in the year of Cadillac’s 120th anniversary,” said Global Cadillac Vice President Rory Harvey. “We do not deploy the V-Series designation lightly. The arrival of the 2023 Escalade-V is the result of a rigorous development program that allows this highly anticipated model to meet the criteria and capability thresholds established by nearly two decades of inspired V-Series performance.”’

Of course, the roaring, guttural sound of the Escalade-V doesn’t merely rest of the shoulders of its exhaust tips. Engineers spent a lot of time perfecting an exhaust system that would leave aftermarket vendors jealous. That included removing the center resonator to make it practically a straight pipe. As far as retaining the brand identity of the Cadillac, the supercharger’s sound is also kept at the desired limit.

But for those times where you don’t necessarily want the Escalade-V to wake up the neighbors, the SUV offers multiple driving modes such as Stealth, Tour and Sport. Stealth mode allows the Escalade-V to run as quiet and smooth as any other SUV. Sport mode does the exact opposite by cranking the exhaust up to 11 so that everyone within earshot can hear you coming.
