The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro Will Roar One More Time with Panther Collector’s Edition
The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro is slated to be the magnum opus for the iconic muscle car before ending production for good. The sixth, and most current generation of the Chevrolet Camaro has been brand’s leanest, highest-performance rendition since its debut in 1967, resulting in the ZL1 1LE. Across its 50+ years as a staple in Chevrolet’s inventory, the Camaro has seen a wide range of special edition trims like the 50th Anniversary, the Wild Cherry Design Package, Shock & Steel, and Redline editions. But with the muscle car’s retirement around the corner, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro will be celebrating its illustrious legacy with a final special Collector’s Edition on the LT/RS, LT1, SS and ZL1 trims for the North American Market.
To pay tribute to the first-generation Camaro, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro SS will be available using its original code name “Panther.”
What Can We Expect with the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro Panther?
“We found it fitting for this Collector’s Edition Camaro to officially recognize the significance of the original code name and share it with Camaro enthusiasts,” says Rich Scheer, design director of Chevrolet Performance in a press release. “Of course, the name ‘Panther’ influenced the colors used, Panther Black Metallic for SS and Panther Matte Black for ZL1.”
Because this very-limited Collector’s Edition of the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro is meant to capture its strength, power, agility, and ferocity, the bar will be set both in its aesthetic and performance. The LT/RS, LT1 and SS trims will come with the Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint with Satin Black accent stripes, a set of 20-inch Satin Black or Polished Forged Wheels, the front splitter from the 1LE package, and coupes will feature the same rear spoiler from the ZL1 package.
What Engine Options Will The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro Have?
For power, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro Panther Collector’s Edition will feature the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V-8 engine in the ZL1 trim, which produces 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque per 3500 RPMs. It will also be featured in a Panther Black Matte finish, which will be the first matte paint that was ever offered on a factory-produced Camaro. Other engine options available will include the 3.6L V-6, and the 6.2L LT1 V-8 which will be available in both coupes and convertibles on LT, LT1, SS, and ZL1 trims.
Only 350 individual units of the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro Panther Collector’s Edition will be produced as a ZL1. Each ZL1 Panther will have a serialized steering wheel badge that represents the number of the 350 Camaros as it was built in the factory. Meanwhile, all other versions of the Panther will have unique front fender script badging that incorporates a panther into the letter “R”, as well as a separate panther on the steering wheel badge.
What Else Comes With The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro?
Customers who purchase the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro Panther Collector’s Edition will also receive a special welcome kit that includes a pair of posters that commemorate all generations of the Camaro, as well as the current Collector’s Edition, a specialized Canfield Sport 45mm watch from Shinola.
“Shinola is proud to share a legacy for quality, craftsmanship and performance with the Camaro nameplate, and we cherish the Detroit heritage that both Shinola and Chevrolet have,” says Shinola CEO Awenate Cobbina.
When Will The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro Be Available?
Aside from Panther Black Metallic paint, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro will also be available with Riptide Blue and Nitro Metallic Yellow exterior colors.
Dealers will be able to start accepting orders for the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro starting June 15th, with the MSRP of the LT coupe starting at $32,495, and the LT convertible starting at $38,495.
