Man Facing Prison Time For Buying Lambo With Covid Relief Funds

A Lamborghini would certainly lighten the stress of quarantine for a lot of people. This Texas man decided to do just that and buy one for himself. The problem is, he used $1.6 million dollars he scammed as COVID-19 relief money for the purchase. In addition to Lamborghini Urus, Price also paid off a mortgage and bought an $85,000 Ford F-350.

Lee Price III is now facing just over 9 months in prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud and money laundering. Price gathered the $1.6 million in several low-interest relief loans. He used his two business to acquire the loans, claiming he had large payrolls to cover and needed help using emergency funds from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), according to the Houston Chronicle. However, there were no employees to actually receive these funds.
