How To Set The Pressure In Off Road Tires

If you have off-road tires on your rigs, you can’t always go by the manufacturer’s recommended tire pressure – especially if you drive on the streets as well. Because the bigger tires have a completely different sidewall and a different load rating, the pressure will be different. There’s a quick, easy way using sidewalk chalk, however, that you can set the correct pressure.

Apply a generous amount of chalk across the tread pattern of your tire. In a nice, empty space go for a drive making sure you go straight without turning the tires. You only need to go about 100 yards. You can then see the wear via the chalk whether it’s even or not and how you need to adjust.
